My new girl friend. We had a surprise visitor yesterday. Our 10 month old granddaughter and her mother. We had the brother and sister this week. For various reasons we haven't seen her but 3 times since her birth. Her dad, my son, changed jobs and was working a lot of time in the Carolinas. Bobbie having MS and not being able to ride as much as she used to and then the baby was sick for a while. When she first arrived yesterday she wouldn't warm up to us for a while but it didn't take long before she was my girl friend. She looks so much like me in my baby pictures. Last night she came and crawled up in my lap and without me even asking reached over and gave me a kiss. Four times, what in the world was I thinking. I was on cloud nine to say the least. Then this morning before she left she had started trying to walk but just wouldn't turn loose and go. I got her to come to me and she took six steps to get those little arms in Pa Pa's safe haven, but she did it. Our DIL called us tonight and told me she was walking everywhere now. Here is a picture of her we made this morning.

Oh my gosh, she's so cute. She has Bobbie's eyes though Jim. :) And you let her go home? Surely you tried to steal her away LOL.

Jim,

You'd better hope she outgrows that "looks like me" thing when she grows up. :) You're a head taller than anyone I know and you have to shave your face. hee hee

She's precious, Jim. Truly precious.

Jim,

She is beautiful!!! So precious and what a happy young lady she is.

You and Bobie, I know, are proud and you have every right to be with this little doll.

Hugs to both of you.

Jim...you got a *real* doll there! I know how you feel about her. I have one that will turn 2 the end of this month, and trust me, she's "Nani's" girl. I just love the way these little creatures get inside your heart. Better watch those eyes! They'll get ya every time. ;-)

Thanks everyone, she found a special place here in my heart for sure.

Susan when my boys were young and we knew we weren't going to have any more and we knew no girl was coming and some one had a new baby and it was a girl I would tell them not to worry that they had the second best thing to have.

Now with three grandgirls I might have to think twice before making that statement.

What a precious little angel, Jim! I know it must have been hard for you and Bobbie to let her go home. Can she say Pa Pa yet? I hope you get to see her much more than you have in the past. She'll make a cute little gardener!
