I have a new camera and am proud of my new pictures. Don't know exactly where to post them, so guess I'll start here. This is one of the Mary dahlias.
New digital camera!
What beautiful blooms! Congratulations to us that you got a new camera :-) Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I've been wanting to do this for a long time. Now it's ALL I want to do. :-)
youtr pictures are great beautifuil flowers.. looks like you got a really good camera..
Way to go, gram! Very nice pics. :)
It doesn't look like we have a pic of your "boo-boo" in the PlantFiles, either. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/90012/index.html I hope you'll consider submitting it so even more folks can appreciate it, because it's quite lovely.
I'd be honored. Do I just do it the same way?
There's a link near the bottom of that PlantFiles link that says "Upload an image of this plant". You can upload your pic there like you do here in Forums, plus it gives you the option of adding a caption for the pic.
Once you've submitted the pic, it may take a day or two before it actually gets included in the PlantFiles, so be patient. :)
OK, thanks. I'll give it a try.
Great shots, 1gardengram! The hollyhock is really something, worth the wait! What camera did you get? The pictures have nice color and sharpness.
Pretty flowers and great shots! What kind of camera???
The camera is a Canon PowerShot A510. Nothing fancy as far as some cameras go. Cost about $200. I have read on other threads here about the big bucks others have spent on their setups and I felt like a real cheapie, but this little camera has sure changed MY entertainment time. That first day I just walked around shooting what I saw on my little screen and it blew me away when I really downloaded them and saw them with more detail, so went back for more shots. I was already addicted! I really appreciate your comments.
Hey, nothing wrong with that or many of the less expensive cameras! It's what's in your mind that counts, how you use what you've got. hczone6 posted a great link which I'll pass along here: http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/notcamera.htm
1gardengram Great pictures you took!We have 2 digital cameras in our family now and I'd like to have one of my own someday too. They take great pictures. We review pictures to much though and have a tendency to waste the camera's batteries going over all the pictures we've taken! Your blazing star flower is sure pretty too. Good luck with your camera!
Yeah, I was warned about the battery juice thing, so I went to Office Depot and spent another $19 for a card reader and downloaded them. You can see them so much better that way, too, with more detail. Then I could see which ones to dump. My eyes are as old as the rest of me and I was afraid to delete anything I couldn't see really well.
That Blazing Star lily really lit up its corner of the world. I hope they multiply quickly.
