You'll be sorry you encouraged me.......these are all "same old, same old" pinks and whites, but really a second crop of beauties coming by the onesies and twosies instead of in a giant flush. I almost enjoy them more one or two at a time so they can be savored.
And because the other thread now has 170+ responses, I thought we could start a "mid-summer" portion of "Do you know where your buds are?"
PART ONE of this thread:

And this morning's onesie.....
Share your buds!
It's 8PM - Do you know where your buds are? PART TWO
That's an amazing color, Candy. I know exactly what you mean that sometimes less is more, or rather, sometimes fewer flowers are more special -- well, I said that badly, but you know what I mean:-)
I hope to post some really big night-blooming ones soon -- not tonight, I suspect but hopefully very soon.
That's vivid color!
:) Donna
Candy, that one is gorgeous! You take some amazing close ups! That is lovely.
Okay Candy, not that I'd call you a liar or anything, but if it weren't for the terracotta pots in the back ground, I'd have sworn you had played with the colors in a photo editor LOL. WOW...I mean WOW! That is some hot flashing neon scream of a colorful flower! Lucky you! :-)

Hey, that's great! Congrats.
Thanks Darius! Ü Considering it's 103F here (and it's outside) I think it's bordering on a miracle! ;)
Lilypon,
beautiful!!
I love that color, Lilypon! Congrats!
Thanks RUK and Clare! :) It's been awhile since I saw one of these up close and personal.
Lilypon!!!!! Oh goody goody for you!! I've been so busy I missed the Big Day, but thanks to electronic images the flower is still in its full glory!! So happy for you!!
Happenstance, do you share cuttings of your Hot pink Orchid cactus, and the one you call Ruth? They just take your breath away, Thanks, Krispi
I think I need to live in zone 10b or roof over the whole backyard!!
Wonderful stuff, Clare!
Thank you, Ursula! I'm frankly surprised by the luck I am having. It's been a fairly mild winter so far, and that probably has something to do with it! I have those cute little E. phyllanthus seedlings in the greenhouse and am really excited to watch their development!
I love the leaf form on that one Clare, gorgeous plant. Do you know the name on that one or know anyone that is offering it for sale? I've been looking for ones that are floriforous throughout the year, especially with a nice leaf form like that. :)

Tom, this one is the one that Glasshouse Works sells as Epiphyllum oxypetalum, but I think it is actually a hybrid. The flowers are smaller than E. oxypetalum, and the fragrance is of lemon blossoms and very sweet, and the flowers last about a half day longer than E. oxypetalum flowers. I got mine as a cutting from them, and it grew very fast and very well without any problems at all. Glasshouse Works also has a wide variety of species and cultivars. Here's a link: http://glasshouseworks.com/succ-de.html
Hi Candy and Ursula and Everyone, I'm getting buds on many of my Epi's already. I think this is one of the warmest winters that we have had in a while. We've been having some summer weather lately, and I think it has confused some of the Epi's. This picture was taken on the 6th, and I think they will open any time now.
Lucky you Clare!!
Mine are sleeping peacefully in the garage, except for the oxypetalum which is trying to break through the ceiling in the greenhouse, puushhh....
LOL, Ursula! These two are odd-ball buds. I think they are confused by the weather we've been having. It's been an unusually warm winter -- not that I'm complaining, mind you! I hope you get lots of flowers on your Epi oxy this year! I am looking forward to more pictures of yours this year.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! Thank you for the hint of spring and a reminder that it will be here in a few short months and what we have to look forward to in. It can only put a smile on your face!
Thanks Dagchelbo!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing those grrrnthumb! Awesome!
holy smokes....did you say 25 10'' blooms? That must be a sight!!
wow that many blooms in January! I am jealous (but in a good way!). I have to agree, very impressive and the blooms are lovely.
Ok, in the interest of honesty, that is approximately 25, I didn't count every one, but the plant is covered in them, and that includes both open flowers & big buds that are coming soon. Also, the 10" is tip to tip on the biggest ones. They are just like other large flowered epi's with 4 or 5" cups & 9 or 10" wingspan.
This one's got me doing the happy dance this winter. :)
I do have a bunch of these to trade for other epi cuttings if anyone is interested. I rooted them about a year ago, 3 to a 4" pot. I don't need cuttings to be rooted in return if you can spare a few.
That close-up photo inspired me to get a tripod before all my peonies (25 varieties) bloom in the spring. They're another plant that can look even better with an extrememe close-up picture.
Clare, STOP!!! You are killing me here! I want to hop on a plane and come see them in person (and you, too, of course). LOL
