question about finding a penpal for my 11 year old dd

Hello,
I was talking to my dd and she would like to find a penpal.

She does have friend, but now with school beeing out she does not have much to do,
since we are out in the country and on a farm. (no park or get together with her friends this way)

It would have to be snail mail pal, because she does not spend time online :)

where could I find more infos? or has anyone of you a child looking for a penpal?

Someone asked awhile ago for a penpal and I said my niece would love one but they wanted an email pal. My niece would be glad for a snail mail pal. She lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I'll DG u her address. :)

This is a great thing for your daughter, I hope that she enjoys it. When I was in junior high French, we all got pen pals. Mine was Mohammed in Morocco, we still correspond 17 years later! It was my friendship with him that led me to become more interested in Africa and the plight of orphans in the poorer countries. I have several sponsored children that I love writing to and especially receiving letters from. Many of the child sponsorship programs have penpal programs, they call them writing buddies, and they are usually for the kids who are sponsored by someone who doesn't want to write. It is a very rewarding experience. I see that you already got responses for your request but thought I would throw this info in anyway.

thanks for the replys.
lorisha has found 2 penpals one from canada and another one from the states. I hope everything starts well, she has written one letter today. and as soon as she knows the other one she will write to.

when I was a teen (living in Switzerland)I had a few penpals they where in italy.
I liked that so I could keep up with my Italian language. as we got older we lost contact.
