Even More Midwestern Lilies

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Love the Golden Stargazer, lincolnitess - and Moby - while your LeReve blooms a month and a half after mine, our Black Beaties are in sync!! I only have a few standard lilies left blooming - Black Beaty actually has done a lot better this year than last and is blooming now (many of the others didn't do well with our hot dry summer this year - last summer was much milder). Also interestingly I have "Ice Caves" blooiming and it appears to have suffered little from the heat. Many of my daylilies are reblooming, though.

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

don't feel bad mine are done in .
Looks like their gonna go to Lilly heaven ?

Only for this year, I hope!

Haydenville, MA(Zone 5a)

Steve FtWorth....do you have a picture of your Ice Caves? I have one (I think it was mislabled as it has a yellow center)

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Bergama, Pink Icecicles and Gold Band all bloomed the same white with tiny white yellow stripes. Fun & games.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

SteveFtWorth, my Black Beauty is much better this year than the first too. The blooms are almost double in size. I have a feeling it is one that just needs to be left along and it will continue to get better and better. I have a few lilies I planted out really late, so am hoping to see a few more blooms yet.

Susan, I was reading above about your 'Lady Alice' being what I also believe is L.henryi. You mentioned that the blooms were smaller than your white henryi. I read in Brent and Becky's catalog that Lady Alice and White Henryi are the same lily, so you've already got it! And it looks like you still got something new. Those are both on my want list.
Neal.

That's very interesting Neal. Here is a photo of what I think is White Henryi and your right it does look like the photos of Lady Alice. Guess I need to just enjoy them all and not worry about the names.

Gorgeous with your cosmos, lincolntess!

Is that an unreported 'color echo'?!!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

That photo was taken last summer and I cheated by putting the lilies in a vase and putting them in front of the cosmos. The photo did remind me how much I liked those white cosmos last year. Wonder why I didn't save some seeds?

How about we just go back a few million years and put the inland sea back where it belongs? THAT would cool us all off fast. (having heat dreams in Iowa)

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

Well, our Nekkid Ladies have not even shown a stalk yet, so in protest, I'll join you and put up my sprinkler Tazzy. There is everything dignified about cooling off, hey?

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Isn't it WONDERFUL? I love the windows open so the fragrance of the Orientals can come in & surround me. Never mind the colors are all wrong, they're short & the bunnies got 1/2 of them--the ones that made it are worth the wait!

A few more of my Tom Pouce decided to show their beautiful faces today.

sigh. Tom Pouce was invited to my garden, but never woke up from his winter sleep. Replacement bulbs will come this fall. Yours is lovely...

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

My Tom ,
never awaken either . ? not very good when
(0 ) out of ten bulbs , not an one came up ?

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

I was looking forward to MeroStar and a bunch of other Orientals that somehow got past the bunnies & the frost. This group is all Stargazers so far. Pretty, but noit what I planted. Looks like i planted over 50 colors & got 10. Oh well, such is life.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Sorry I am late in getting here... I was unavoidably detained... but I managed to get through it all and everyone here is still safe... I did not harm one person (j/k) and I can still smile... ;)

All mine bloomed while I was not able to get here... ain't that the way it goes?

But for your amusement: Here is a frog named Ralph that lives in a stock tank in the cattle station...
