Horn, Netherlands(Zone 8b)

Great news ! This afternoon at 14.40 h. ( European time) a new little princess has born. She 's healthy, weights 3490 gr. and her length is 50 cm. Princess Máxima was brought into hospital this morning ..so it was a very exciting ...hoping that everything went well for mother and child. Her birth has been just pronounced and at 16. 30 h. prince Willem-Alexander has showed her to the press. She looked so cute..I 've got tears in my eyes..I think she will be looking as pretty as her mummy.

You're welcome! It is really nice picture of them both.

Yes..her name has announced this morning..her name is...... Alexia Juliana Marcela Laurentien...Alexia after her father Prince Willem-Alexander, Juliana after the queen-mother...her great grandmother..passed away in march 2004, Marcela after a very dear aunt of princess Máxima..her mother's sister and Máxima 's godmother, Laurentien after the wife of prince Constantijn...sister-in-law of the father so her aunt..
Dorris..yes she was due 15th next month officialy.. But the baby is still born in time and Máxima had a natural delivery. Contractions allready have started during night time..first they've ignored this..thought it was something else..early morning they've called the med. to look after this..Máxima was brought in hospital at about 11.00 h pm.
The father has told the press that little princess Amalia (18 month now) responded great seeing her little baby-sister..The prince has told they've prepared her for this event daily..Amalia has a doll called Baby..they found Baby many times in the cradle..but sometimes missing legs or arms or with the diper over the head...LOL..The parents hope that little princess Amalia will give better treatment to her baby-sister then to 'Baby'....
Dorris..if you like more to hear just drop a line..Of course it's easier to follow news from here.

Thank you so much for the information and for posting the pictures. I am going to check out the website. I read where Princess Claire is pregnant and expecting twins. Who is she related to? Doris

Hi Saya, I just sent congratulations to the Royal parents on that site! It worked! Looked like all the others were written in Dutch (?).

Yes I found it sweet too..and such a nice mixture of royalness and ordinary people..so refreshing.
Doris, Princess Claire is from Belgium. My computer server has broken.."feeding" has blown up..so I cannot look it up for you now. But I will when everything's fixed again. I 'm responding from the computer at my work..
