Little Toes.......

Franklin, WI(Zone 5a)

My 2yr old grand-daughter refuses to go to sleep without a blanket/afghan that she can stick her toes through! Isn't that silly? Anyone have any funny habits they remember from childhood....or that a family member still reminds them of?!

...I don't know of any silly habits, but my mother use to occasionally remind me of a childhood moment....

When I was about four or five, she couldn't find the puppy one day.

Eventually she found it.

It was in the refrigerator.

Sandy, she's soooooo precious! Don't you just love how little ones look when they're sleeping! :-). Weren't you worried she'd fall off the couch though while she was asleep there?

Not to worry Julie! I had a chair next to the couch....I moved it to take the pic!

And yes, sleeping babes are just too adorable. Not like me...mouth open, drooling on my pillow with mascara smudged under my eyes! LOL!

lol she's precious Sandy!

My parents will never let me forget about how when I was really young I would lay on the kitchen floor saying "Woe Muck woe muck!" and would get up till they gave me warm milk. lol Funny part is, I can't stand milk now.

Sandy, I have a cousin that had a textile-related sleeping habit as a very young child. She could not go to sleep without a piece of fluffy cotton cloth that was her first blanket as a newborn. Nobody remembers how the love affair started, but until secondary school my cousin would only go to sleep holding that blanket and pressing it against her nose. I guess it was something about breathing warm air through the cloth that relaxed her.

The bad thing was that washing the blanket made her sleep uneasy for a couple of days, so the thing was not very clean most of the time... :)

There are rumours that my cousin, now 31 and a mother herself, still uses "Nanitza" (of course it had a name!) when in need of relaxation...
