Illegal Website

I got an email, which was deleted by my virus protection because, well, it contained a virus. I was given the email address abuse@gov.us and subject: "Illegal Website".

Well, I am wondering if this was a hoax, or if I should be concerned??? Anyone else receive this message?

I sent an email to the address, requesting the message be re-sent. Haven't rec'd anything back suggesting it was not a valid email. But when I tried to go to the web site www.gov.us, there was no such thing.

Hopefully, one of my fellow DGer's is more familiar with the gov websites, or has heard of this hoax. I do have a website, but there is nothing illegal about it.

Well, after I hit the preview button, I checked my mail, and it was an invalid address. so I will try to not worry about it. Gonna leave this post in case anyone else who has a web site gets this mail or virus...

It's a hoax, and it's possible any link given within the e-mail is to a site containing malicious code. Make sure nothing got installed if you clicked on any links within that mail.

Nope, didn't even get the email, just the Virus pop up box that said "Quarantined:1 Deleted 1", and then the email stating the sender and subject.

Whew, guess I lucked out, since my protection isn't even up to date (ducking and quietly stepping out) thanks! :-)
