hello Emma
Ipomoea purpurea 'Emma's Gift' is on sale at ebay! ???????
I will have lots of seed of her/you (LOL) to send in the fall and it has also mutated on this plant. It's an off white with a light lavender/rose throat.
I call it 'From Grace'

Larry, You're awake....LOL
SO GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
I did see those on eBay and I do know the seller.
But, her blooms have so many different color variations,
that I did not see in 'Emma's Gift' that I grew last year.
For me they only produced Creamy-White Blooms
with Purple Stripes, Swirls, Streaks, Specks,
and some Blooms are Part Solid Purple with Pink Halo at Throat
No Two Blooms the Same.
I haven't had blooms on mine yet this year.

Your 'From Grace' Blooms sound very pretty.
I'm looking forward to seeing your photos.

Thanks, Larry

Here is your Plum Frost and its not quite open yet. I hope it opens ok since it is in the hot, hot sun just about all day......
I thought it looked so nice just sitting there waiting to open. I just love the color of this one once it opens.....

My Blue Star is different than your Seedsower.............
This is my Blue Star from last year. It is a very pretty MG
For some the squirrels would not leave it alone and I didn't
get a single one to vine this year.

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

this is my "Flying Saucer" from last year as well. These are more very pretty MG's and I didn't get any of them up either because of the Squirrels...........
The bloom on the right looks just like yours Nut4spuds

This photo was just to much to resist this morning. Just a plain ole, Mt Fuji Purple but against the white background it just stood out so much..........and is just loaded with blooms....

Dee your FujiShibori is GREAT!
I like this Bloom. Be sure to tag it....LOL
Is this one and your other FujiShibori Mutation on the same vine?
Or different?
And the Plum Frost 'Looks Plum' - Can't wait to see the markings.

Dee wonder why your Mt. Fuji Purple is called 'Mt. Fuji' when it looks like a Tie Dye???
Always wondered about that!

Nut4spuds I still think yours is a 'Flying Saucer Mutation' and it is AWESOME.
My Blue Star also looks like the one WillowWasp posted.

Brookhaven, PA(Zone 7a)

Luvsgreatdanes.... its not a grandpa otts is it? it looks very similar (the voice of someone who buys a pack of mixed seed and hopse for something pretty....LOL!)http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/9146/

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Hummm, you know Emma I have wondered the same thing and I do think you are right in thinking they are Tye Dyes. I got these seed from someone and they were labled as Mt. Fuji Blue/Purple Mix. So that is why I put the name on them and have kept it so far. The first blooms I got were different and now they are going back to the Tye Dye Look. So really I should relable them because they are Tye Dyes...............right..........

Wichita, KS

Yes, I think it is from my Flying Saucer bunch I grew last year. Thanks for your help.

I have some Scarlett O'Hara growing - from Burpee. Silly things are purple! What a disappointment. I am pulling up those silly purple ones left and right. They are volunteers from my neighbor's growing them 2 yrs ago. Still pulling the silly things out!

Keep the pictures coming.
I am anxiously awaiting my blooms and salivating over all of yours...
You should see my "Gotta have list" for next Spring.

I am so happy that so many folks are now growing all these different glories,

When I go hunting for mutations in the farming areas in NC and SC. I always get stopped at least once by a farmer. When I tell him (no hers yet) I am collecting morning glories, they can't believe it! To them no one in their right mind would want to grow what they spend good money killing!

I take a few to tell him about all the folks that are collecting glories on the net, etc. They laugh and just shake their heads in wonder. A few even say "those folk need to go to "Cherry" LOL

Cherry Hospital is the states mental hospt.

So many new colors and patterns have come to light in such a short time. I just dream of what we will have in 10 years????

OH Emma, do you (or anyone else) have seeds of the mexican petunia?
I know there are 3 colors of the tall one and 3 colors of the dwarf. I am looking for seeds of all 6. LOL and no I don't need to go to "Cherry" for wanting to plant these! lol BTW it's only a 1 1/2 drive from me. I have pant hunted on the same road it's on. LOL But no one stopped to ask me what I was doing. LOL

Yes I have some goodies in the wind. I just want to make sure they will breed true before I share them.. :-)

Is anyone going to Cancun, Mex.? There is a species of Bush Glory growing in that area that I want. Hint Hint....
take care
Larry

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Larry,
Thanks for the 'tip' about Cancun. I won't be going again anytime soon, but am always coming across folks that are. Give me the info and I'll put my feelers out for your Mexican Bush MG.
And, of course, I have ALL of the Mexican Petunias. Not positive if I still have seed from last year, but most I probably do. So, what I don't have seed for I can send you some later. Not positive if I have the Tall Pink YET. I lost my only Pink Plant, but got seeds from SFA Mast Arboretum near me. Pretty sure I still have some of these seeds. Also, I have BUNCHES of Dwarf Mexican Petunia 'Purple' Ruellia brittoniana Babies that need a good home *-*
These are A TEXAS SUPERSTAR™ (P)
I'll get them to you.

Rose Hill, NC(Zone 8a)

Emma
you are great at finding things please at your next visit see if you can locate some Matelea ssp. for me they are nearly gone from the wild and have a most different bloom.. AKA angle-pod = climbing milkweed

Oh I have one Tropical Glory Vine from Belize I sure hope it makes it. It can't take the cold at all. I found out the hard way this past winter.

This one I must say is some what of a dissapointment. It is much smaller than I though it would be and is not the silky type I thought it would be.
Shriytaki.....hope the spelling is correct...

Here is another bloom of Emmas "Lavender Mist" I think this is the best and largest bloom yet. Very pretty and a nice pale Lavender color

And more of the Plum Frost Mix.............Oh and a kitty to...........thats Kit.

Dee, your White Bloom is gorgeous.
It is: Shirayuki
And, still love my 'Lavender Mist'. So lovely.
The Dark Blue Tie Dye from the Plum Frost Mix is incredible.

I'll need to look at my notes to see what this seed was.
Pretty sure was a seed FROM JAPAN that I grew -
However, it appears to have crossed with my Plum Frost,
as it has the Plum Frost Markings.
Bloom is HUGE. 5"+

wow Emma is that your first FujiShibouri? If it is the blooms get better as the vine matures............Congrats.......
I love the one you are calling Chocolate Plum I love all the Mauves.........
Keepum coming.........

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Dee, the Shirayuki that I planted last year that failed to grow had a couple of blooms on it that were huge and very silky, satiny. This bloom really doesn't look like mine. The one I had actually shimmered like it was diamond dusted.

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Dee, This is the second photo I've posted of FujiShibori. The other one is probably on Thread #2 and was a Lighter Color than this one.
These seeds are from the only FujiShibori I grew last year.
I like that Chocolate Plum too. Have lots of vines with this color.

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

oooohhhh,chocolate plum is wonderful!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Chocolate plum is spectacular!!!

Silky Blue Grew Back True!
Hey, that rhymes.
This is my 2003 Cross that has remained TRUE for year #3.
On cloudy days the 5"+ Blooms stay open all day and turn to a Dark Mauve by the end of day. This is EXQUISITELY BEAUTIFUL.

Not a Clue where this seed came from.
It was mixed in with my Dwarf Plum 'Creeper' seeds
and is a Climbing Vine that is
'Very Pale Pink Tie Dye with Star in Center'

Hi Emma, how's it going?

Hey everyone my Blue Silk flowered its first flower and it wasn't photogenic enough for a picture but its color just blew me away. WOW I can't wait to see the vines loaded with these pearls of color.
