In AUG. 05, I signed up for the 'Sister Study', I finally recieved my kit in the mail this week. Now I will be contacted by a nurse who will draw blood,take a urine sample,gather dust,ect. The Sister Study will gather information about me and my life style, former lifestyle growing up,ect. for the next ten years. It is a study of 'sisters' who have a sister who've had or 'have' Breast Cancer. My sister (thankfully) is a survivor. My brother however lost his life to Cancer soon after I signed up for the study. I'm excited! I really hope something is learned from the study (as I'm sure it will) and I hope my small comitment will be
helpful. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to be in this study.

I'm so sorry to read of the death of your brother. My children carry a significant cancer risk so I am always aware of this hovering over our family. I'd never heard of the sister study before. What a great way to feel like you can DO something proactive to help cancer research in some way! :-)

momof2d, sounds like a good thing you are doing. Perhaps down the road it may help someone else's brother. So sorry you lost yours.
