Any John Mellencamp fans out there?

I am going to my 2nd JM concert next week in Indy and have had so many problems getting the tickets shipped. Hopefully they are due today.

I went in April and was so sick ended up in the ER, left the concert before it was even finished.

Donovan and Stephen King were part of his show then. Donovan sang his own set and SK was a lead bass player. It was a great concert.

This one, John Fogerty from CCR will be singing with him and I'm all excited. Just wondered if anyone else was a fan and going to one of his Summer Tour concerts :)

I LOVE Mellencamp's music especially the older stuff. Scarecrow is my fav CD. Saw him in concert long time ago at Poplar Creek where I could only get lawn seats (only $11 at that time) which happened to be situated on a steep hill. It rained day before and just trying to get up that hill was a trip! Coming down was an even faster trip! Good times. Haven't been to any concerts in a long time. Can't handle the crowds (or the prices)!

Have lotsa fun at the concert and please report back so I can experience it vicariously through you!

I've been to Seymour, Indiana twice now with Howie when he had to go there on business, and we never did try to find John's house there. I like his music, though.

Guess we'll have to ask Dispatcher1 where John's house is :) I got my tickets this afternoon and there are many disappointed people out there. The tickets were not as promised and I think I'll stick to ticketmaster! Fanfire really stinks.

Well, I will keep you posted on the concert. I'm hoping to get to see Makshi (Diane) while in that area, but not sure if it is doable.

That's one thing I hated about when Howie and I went to Seymour -- with his being on call at the plant there, I could not make any kind of plans to see anyone. We'll have to just go there for fun sometime.

Have you ever bought tickets from http://stubhub.com before? We bought our Cleveland Indians tickets there. It's an after-market venue and people sell season sports tickets individually as well as concert tickets.

John's childhood home and still his parents home is here, but he lives in a mansion in Bloomington, Ind. I love his music, but have never been able to afford to attend a concert. My daughters both see him whenever he is on tour. There is a gathering of his fan club here on the 1st Saturday of October each year. They have a lot of fun, but he does not attend. This small town , unfortunantly, did not support him when he first started out as Johnny Cougar. He had a reputation in high school as a " parking meter punk" and he could never live down his reputation here. If you guys ever come to Seymour again and don't let me know, I'm going to get VERY upset. You hear???!!! Lou

Ha, ha....Lou, how are you? Are John's parents alive and living there? I am going next weekend to Indy to see him and have one ticket center section about 12 rows back. The other two tickets are in the upper pavilion. (I've made Tory into a Mellenhead and she wanted desperately to go). So Ralph and I will take turns going back and forth (maybe we'll even sneak her down to the center section :) ) He is my all-time favorite singer and when I found out he was from Seymour, I was excited because I used to love him when I lived in massachusetts. Wish you could go with us Lou, it would be great seeing you. I think of you often and tell the story to my grandchildren about your Imagine stone. It brings smiles to all our faces still and rests with Cameron. Also am wondering how you are doing? I am going to come and see you sometime, I promise. You take care and keep in touch. :) Kathy

I am so jealous - make that envious Kathy. Two Mellencamp concerts in just a short time period. WOW!! Have a blast, I am sure Tory will remember this event forever. Think you have started a family tradition here.

Well, I felt like I got cheated out of my other one. Didn't get to enjoy it. I won't eat anything for 2 days before the concert. LOL. Is that a little story bout Jack wwithout Dianne? :) Gosh, I wish I could take pictures. Of course, I'm part of his fan club, so I've put my name in for a drawing for Meet and Greet after the concert. Wouldn't that be awesome for Tory? She loves him as much as me. :) I may have started something with Tory, she's so funny talking about JM. I'll keep you posted. :) Kathy

If Howie's job would do something sane like, oh, give him at least a day's notice before sending him there, we'd have more luck socializing. Last time, they asked him at 3pm if he'd go, saying he would possibly be called in that night. After a restless night in the hotel room waiting for the phone to ring, he finally called the plant at 6am and went in shortly thereafter. This big, important job hadn't even run on the presses yet. He was done by noon and we had to head straight back. We'll have to PLAN a trip to visit, Lou - it's not a long drive! :)

2yrs ago i saw him 2day apart one in BLOOMINGTON INDIANA where HIS house is and I do have pics of his gate and the lake!!! :) and the John Mellencamp pavillion and then 2days later back here in MICHIGAN!!!!!(better seats)
I have a MELLENCAMP JACKET i won on a radio auction,MELLENCAMP concerts shirts and a football jersey and mellencamp pins and cds and programs and I have been in the second row about 5 ft from him and I CANT WAIT TO SEE HIM JULY 4TH-SHOULD BE A RIOT-may see me on tv this time! just need a boost up on the stage!!!

MY oldest son and his gf are also going to be there!! His first time!! I raised him(all 5 boyz)listing to JOHNNY an telling them -suck it up and tough it out and be the best they can --- You have to stand right up for something or you going to fallllllllllllllllllll for anything -ya ya yaaaaaaaaaaa

Dori, You and I could rock the house, I'm sure. My granddaughter is now going and she's telling EVERYBODY. She's 6 years old. I'm so excited. I was able to get one ticket Sect. B, Row U...(certainly better than the other two I have)...Sect D, Row G. I figure we'll swap seats every now and then and maybe I'll even sneak my gd down with me...:)

Are you part of the fan club? I just ordered my club cherry bomb T shirt. They FC gave us $20 credits to use on the store because most of our tickets were messed up so bad. yesterday they posted that anyone that wanted to turn their tickets back in would/could get a full refund, including all costs and shipping and still keep the $20 credit. I tried to find better seats, closer....but now they are all sold out unless you are looking for one seat.

4th of July concert is probably going to be awesome. He's doing all outside venues this year from what I understand. And I'm excited to be seeing John Fogerty as well, he's pretty awesome music wise as well.

Sure wish we were going to the same concert. Maybe someday, we'll work on that....meet and greet at one of the concert....get tickets together; scream, dance, and enjoy JM together. :)
