This came to me labeled "robusta' from my growers.It is a huge speciman. After looking at the two, it seems to me I don't have Robusta at all. He also called it "Robusta, Giant Ape"..does mine look at all like yours? There isn't any silver on the underside of these leaves at all.

Lisa yours is a xanthosoma.Blue ape.(pronounced ah -pay) Several cultivars of aroids were called robusta years ago..since then many have been reclassified.True robustas have the wrinkled leaves with the lighter undersides.

thank you for that info. The grower I purchased it from bought out his dads stock of tropicals. Your reasoning is very true because his dads stock was from years ago. (his dad is in his 80's now) It is a beautiful xanthosoma, having a dark green blueish hue.
Lisa, its still a noteworthy plant..can get real big with lots of sun , water ,and fertilizer.
