Every time this day comes around, I can think back to my parents' home in Pennsylvania ... The neighbor across the street always had flags everywhere in his yard on this date! He has a red picket fence, and a flag on each fence post. Flags on his walkway banister, a tall flag on the post, and another hanging from his porch. Always the prettiest yard on the block one day a year. :)
Happy Flag Day! If you're able, unroll the Old Glory & raise her up the flag post today.
June 14 - Happy US Flag Day
Old Glory is up and waving to everyone that passes by. I love this country!
You know what your description reminded me of? When I was in Denmark, I saw flags everywhere. One house was even decorated as you described. I don't think it was their flag day or anything, though, because I was with people who just explained that they are very proud of their country and the things they sannd for. (For example, they said that during WWII when the Nazis invaded, even the royalty wore Stars of David in support of the Jewish community! In contrast, I think I only saw one flag when I was in Germany.) Anyway, just an interesting piece of information...
