I know, where my buds are!
All that puffing helped of course - and here she is:
Epi Edna Stoddard
It's 8PM - Do you know where your buds are?
Ah, so pretty!
Oh, man. That is a pretty one. It looks like a dark maroon. What a great picture!
Clare, when they open how about a long shot showing the entire pot? Those pots look beautiful!
Ursula, I love the color of Gitti Paetz. It looks like it glows.
thanks!!
We had two Squirrels today on the deck, they are acrobats!! Luckily they only chewed some Portulaca and shredded a couple of Passiflora buds, no damage to the Epis or anything else was done. I managed to trap one of them ( DH took him for a long ride) and set the trap again with Peanuts.
Candy, there is nothing same old, same old about those! They are gorgeous and just light up the night with neon! My friend Don -- who sent me those epi's -- says that it will be a little while longer yet. He says that the buds will get even bigger from here.
Oh, no, Ursula! I hope he just relocated him to a nice area!
Thanks, NoH2O. Those pots are actually those light weight polyurethane containers. Here's a picture which shows some of them.
Candy, your epi's are gorgeous. You must be getting jaded if you think they are same old, same old. LOL
Clare, I love the polyurethane containers because they are so much easier to handle but I seldom see them in such elegant styles and colors as yours.
Ursula, that red is magnificent!
Candy, "same old, same old"....LOL You're really funny!
Clare, How big is your garden? Have you got an overhead pic of that pond area? I'd love to see how it's set up, even if there isn't any water in it at present (or is there?).
-Julie
Candy, I love the pinks!!
And Clare, DH released the Squirrel in a very large park which winds along a picturesque river through several towns. It can now chase Ducks and Geese all day long and harass people on roller blades.
Thanks fellow Epi lovers! You'll be sorry you encouraged me.......here's PART TWO of "Do you know where your buds are?"

Thanks, NoH2O. I think I got lucky because I found them at Target, but they cost a fortune! They also don't breathe as well as clay pots, but they are nice because they are light.
Hi Julie! My garden is very small and very crowded! The Koi ponds are located right off of the semi-covered patio area. I have plants on the patio and on each side of the house and in the front and in the back and anywhere where they will fit! There are three ponds, but one is empty, and at the moment, we are having some electrical problems so the waterfall and filter aren't working, and there is an algae problem. The Koi are not happy with us at the moment, but we will be getting it fixed shortly.
LOL, Ursula! Glad to hear it! Tee hee...
Julie, here are the ponds. I'll find some more pictures for you here in just a moment.
Sorry, Julie! I got distracted and called away. I'll get those pond pictures tomorrow:-)
Soooo nice! I can't wait to see a pic of the whole thing! (hint hint) I can't quite figure out how it's all set up in individual pics. (aren't I a stinker? ;-)
-Julie
Clare, that is so beautiful. What a wonderful place to relax and recharge.
Thanks, NoH2O! It's actually a pain! LOL! But the waterfall is nice when it is running:-)
Clare thank you for indulging me :-). I think I can see how it works now. You've got the one "tank" on the left with a waterfall on the far left wall, then the narrow one in the center is empty???? as well as the one on the right? The narrow one in the center has rocks behind it....are those for a waterfall as well? And the tank on the right (in the overall pic with the net draped across it), does it have a waterfall on the far right end too? I'm only asking all these annoying questions to get a mental image of how it all looks when one can see the whole thing. And I'm sure it's hard to get it all into one pic.
Sorry about the hi-jack too Candy. But at least there are Epis everywhere in site in these pics! LOL
-Julie
Hi Julie,
The narrow one in the center has water, but the water level is really low right now. The third pond on the far right is empty, and I currently have container plants in it. The narrow one in the center has rocks behind it but no waterfall. The rocks helps to keep the liner in place. There is no waterfall on the far right either. The waterfall on the left is coming from a large filter further on the left. The whole thing is too wide for me to capture in one shot. Here is a picture of the third pond with epi's in it!
Okay, got it. But one last question please.....why 3 ponds and not one bigger one? (I'm pond ignorant, so I'm just curious here.....and frankly jealous of anyone who has such a nice big one!) :-)
-Julie
Julie, these were put in by the original owners of the house, who lived here for 30 years. When they sold their house, the new owner rented the home to us. In the big pond, they kept some very large, old Koi, and it was pretty crowded from what I understand. I was told that the new owner gave away many of the large Koi that were in the big pond. The second and third pond had other types of smaller fish. I emptied out the third one and put those fish in the second one when we had a problem with the filter for that third pond. Why three separate ponds? Got me surrounded. I would have just put in one.
See, I thought YOU built this pond.....now I'm no longer confused LOL. Although I would still ask the original owners "why" if I ever met them.....and how likely is that? ROTFL
-Julie
Julie, the original owners are gone, I'm afraid, but they seemed like nice people. If they were here, I would have a whole lot of "why" questions for them. When I pull out things that they planted, I am muttering to myself "why?"
ROTFL...ooops....sorry, shouldn't giggle ;-)
Bump:-)
