Ok time for a "bud check" from here!
This season could go on and on if this keeps up. Buds in Southern California, Buds in Israel too! I think we've all got a case of "bud vibes."
It's 8PM - Do you know where your buds are?
Woooohooooo Candy! I'm very excited about all of your buds. This will definitely keep the blooming season going a while longer. And then all those people in cooler climates whose Epi oxys won't be blooming til the end of summer.....more wonderful things to anticipate :-)
-Julie
You've got "buds"? You've got a LOTTA buds Clare! I can't wait to see that show :-)
-Julie
Thanks, Julie! Me too! This will be a first for me so I am really excited and will stay up all night -- well, mostly all night:-)
Ursula, you saved the best for last :-) I love that last pic :-) Thanks so much for sharing the opening stages with us!
-Julie
Ursula, that last photo is spectacular, esp. with the shadow on the wall!
thank you, I am so glad you like it!!
You know, I never get tired of looking at them and I am always enjoying the scent. Luckily, we will have a mini-show several days in row, one or two here and there.
Oh my gosh! I almost missed it.......what a stunning series of images Ursula! Those last two shots are just great and I think I can actually smell the wonderful aroma.
:-)
Ursula
Wowee! Yowzer! Fantastic! Great shots, Ursula. Those are fantastic blooms:-) Congratulations!
Yowzer?? Cute!
thanks, Clare.
I know where my buds are
hidding till next year....
Those shots are gorgeous
thanks crestedchick! And patience!!
As said before, if I would have kept the plant in a regular bright room during the indoor season, it would flower in late summer on the new matured growth. My plant is growing year around, that's why I am getting a flower preview. (Last night I watched the next two buds opening.)
So maybe mine stands a chance of blooming?
It sat there for a year, did nothing
I had it in the GH all winter and now its growing like crazy
I think I have to repot it and put a tomato care around it
I'll take a picture of it
Don't forget they generally need to be root bound to flower.
Karen, what a magnificent plant! No, I would not re-pot it this year...
I'm worried about it falling over
I keep it wedged between some other plants
I'm not sure I can get a tomato cage over it without hurting it
Maybe with my DH helping......
all that tall growth is from this year.........
freaked me right out....LOL
Looks like flowering size to me!!
Soooo.......
maybe this fall?????
Earlier!
Happy Dance!!!!!!
Karen, why don't you try putting in down through the tomato cage rather than trying to put the cage over it? If you get it into the tomato cage, you'll have all the leaves safely inside....then you can lift the cage up a bit more (while the plant pot stays standing on the ground) to let some of the side leaves drop through the side holes of the cage. Then gently let the cage back down again. I know what I mean ...does it make any sense to you? LOL

OMG'ness...where'd the rest of my post go?!?!?! I guess because I'd placed spaces after the first line...the rest of it didn't show up?!?!?!
I'd posted to say that I *wish* I had buds to keep track of!!
But I guess I shouldn't complain, as I do have a Rhipsalidopsis that has a whopping *3*!!
I have an Epi that looks amazingly similar to yours, Crestedchik....it's in the same type of pot, has the same 'lean' and all!
Hopefully Ursula's optimism on the possibility of yours blooming will float my way!
(Edited because originally only the first line was shown.)???

You are so smart
I woulda tried the hard way first!!!!
It makes PERFECT sense
It worked sooo perfect
I dropped it in,the pot fit in the bottom hoop perfect....and ......the prongs at the bottom are perfect for me to set on the ground and the prongs push into the ground ,so it wont fall over
BIG HAPPY DANCE!!!!!
now I can put it in the garden instead of squished in with all the tropicals by the GH
Wooohoooo! I'm glad it worked. After I posted the recommendation, I thought "Uh oh, what if she's got one with a caged top too that must by it's design be put over the top of the plant". I'm glad yours was one that would work with the plant you have :-)
