I LOVE my patio it makes me so happy. :) I'm getting blooms and I have my containers potted up. Best of all it is clean because I had company. I give it until the weekend before it's a big honking mess.

Pull up a chair and have a seat....
Beautiful! Chill the wine cuz I am on my way! :)
Jazzpunkin we ALWAYS have wine ready to go so come on over. I'll heat the pool up too. I love to sit out here at night with a great glass of wine.
OOohhh.... wine AND a pool! ::running upstairs to pack her bags::
Your place is always so beautiful Kristi! I absolutely love it! I can sure see why it makes you happy.
Beautiful! Tropical New Jersey! Pull out the Jimmy Buffet CD's and the Tequlia! How did you ever get so many Brugs blooming at once...and right before a party? I am impressed!
WTG! That would make me happy also, 'specially the wine. teehee......
oh, wow - that DOES look inviting, Kristi - Let me grab the hubby and head on over! - shall I have him bring his stone hammer and whip you up a wall while we're there?? LOL

Everything looks lovely. So neat and tidy too. I admire neat and tidy, but I never seem to achieve it. Everything just runs wild here. A half tamed jungle is as close as I get.
Mary
A lovely tour, much enjoyed.
The variation in your pots is nice, too.
It is creative to have a destination in the design, and so you do.
Wow! Your patio would make ANYONE happy!
Kristi
Would love to come hang out at your pool too. Forget the heat though lol Very beautiful and relaxing looking
Oh Kristi...you must be so proud! You've created a beautiful haven and I would just fall in love with it and never want to leave! LOL I just love the 'view going to the patio'. Mind if I use it for wallpaper for awhile....it's so pretty and inviting!
I wish each and every one of you could join me for a glass :) really I do! Thanks for all the sweet comments. I really do enjoy putting the patio together each season. It's the highlight of my spring.
meltn- I over winter them in the garage in a dormant state. When I take them out they just go nuts and some start to bloom right away. I have two Golden Ladies and both are at the same stage of bloom- I did find that odd. I'm surprised this season that anything is blooming. I've not fed them or added any new soil to the pots. It was COLD up until two weeks ago.
Gloria we ARE going to share a glass of wine one day :)
Mary I give new meaning to the word messy garden. This was a 'off' day because I had company. Usually it's a pit.
Come on over and recoupe here Donna. :) I have a parrot you can take pictures of.
Diane I could so use your husband right about now. Do you see my pool? See my flag stones? We have major issues with them all lifting after this past winter. We can't find anyone to redo them either, well we could but they have no clue how to lay them correctly.
Brinda I'd be thrilled. My garden would be famous then.
Hey, JazzPunkin, if South Texas is on your way from Ohio to New Jersey, please come pick me up and take me with you. I don't even need the wine. It would put me to sleep, and I would want to stay awake to try to figure out how to make my yard look like Kristi's. LOL
Seriously, Kristi, your pictures are always breathtaking. I just love your beautiful yard. It is just so darn hot here in South Texas, and I have no shade in my back yard, so by this time of year everything here looks like cr...
Really REALLY gorgeous...and nothing/zip/zero/nada/zilch out of place. I had to rest after seeing the photos!!! Do you actually, really, literally bring all those pots inside for the winter? And which Army comes to help? LOL Your love really shows in your garden!
See ya. I really prefer Shiraz if you don't mind.....
Carol
Oh wow, I love your patio too
That is one of the prettiest backyards i've seen
Absolutely beautiful patio and yard.
My feet ache right now so I will pull up a chair. And I want to dangle my feet in your pool. As usual, a vison of delight. I love it when you post pics Kristi. Just lovely.
Really gorgeous Kristi. What is the white Brug? It and Butterfly are both giants. What is the beautiful blue flower covering that entire side over on the left? It is beautiful.
Wish we all could come to your party Kristi.
The yellow seedling x Kyle's pink seeds you gave me are such husky plants. I sure hope they bloom for us this summer. Will post pictures if they do.
Jeanette
OH MY GOD......WHAT A SLICE OF HEAVEN! I've always loved brugs and hope to achieve a patio that looks like yours one of these days. What size pots do you have yours growing in?........Cissy
Beautifully done!! I've been sweating over the containers I used for my first go with brugs but after seeing yours, I should be ok. I got to smell Butterfly once in the basement. Can't imagine how nice that must be in the evenings. The brick and rock work on the patio and pool is great!
What a beautiful retreat you have.
Is that an affenpincher that has bloomed too?
Hap
whew palie!!...I think that is the prettiest patio I've ever seen......all your flowers are so lovely.... If I were a butterfly I'd run away to your yard :))
Im so JEALOUS hahahahhaa in the good way of course hehehehe

Thank you again everyone. My patio garden has been following me around the last 13 years or so in one form or the other and was born out of necessity. With both my husband and I in the military many years ago I had to garden in containers. We never stayed longer then two years at a time where ever we lived. It was my garden, not contaners after awhile. Now that we haven't moved in a record number of years I still can't shake the pots. I really enjoy creating a little space to sit outside and enjoy.
Carol, only the brugs come in during the winter. I've cut that number WAY back too. I'm on a quest to only surround myself with brugs that bloom almost all season for me. I don't care what color it is as long as it puts out a show and the bugs don't like it. My season is just too short to wait for blooms. I've also learned over the years that sometimes more is just more, not better. Not only with brugs but with other plants as well. Especially hostas. Shiraz- check :) Always have it.
Cissy I try to go as big as I can but I stick them in what ever I have on hand. I have issues with my back so smaller is better for me. I do grow many in the ground and they always do much better then the potted ones. I just like to have them potted on the patio so I can keep them close to me.
8ftbed- I can't take credit for the patio brick, it was here when we moved in.
Happy- that is a poodle/ terrier mix or something like that. She's a pound puppy. Her hair is VERY coarse- it's like petting a soft wire brush. She's also got tuffs of it that hangs off her ears. I think I'm going to clip her today for the first time ever. Although I hate to lose her wild look.
Lexy we have hummers but not too many butterflies this season. I think it's been too cold.
Jnette- that is the yellow seedling (trash can seedling) that just opened up when I took the picture. Today it is turning a peachy/yellow color. It's such a great grower. It has a TON of suckers that need to come off. If the seeds you are growing are like the mom plant they will be really vigorious.
Beautiful is all I can say.I think I'd like to do some container gardening, but can't afford the containers.lol.Jody
Beautiful, Kristi. Your yard is what mine should grow up to look like.
Your place is Beautiful. What an eye you have for plant placement and combos. Your containers are so stunning and I'm sure they will only continue to fill your patio with superb color as the summer goes on.
I really like the iron stand with the bowl type container. Very Unique looking. Thanks so much for sharing your piece of paradise.
Wow I wanna be a bird, frog or bunny and come live in YOUR garden! WOW! It's gorgeous!!!!

Kristi,
A unity of color and imagination!! Just gorgeous!!
Marie
Kristi, that patio is really gorgeous! It looks so peaceful, and I know it must smell beautiful, too!
I'm playing with your philosophy about less is better. I really need to do that, too. Too much is just exhausting to care for, ad then I don't have time to enjoy it. Maybe I'll give it a try.
Kay
Kristi, just looks like heaven . Wish I weren't so far away would love to come and spend a day in your bit of paradise. So neat lovely. My place is a scramble, can't seem to get everything neat. I must cut down as it is getting to be too much for me to try to take care. of. Congratulations on such a beautiful restful spot. DonnaS
h My Kristi! I NEED to visit!!!
And there is TOTO too!!!!
