Being able to comment on the daily quote

(Zone 7a)

How about doing unto the Daily Quote what is now done unto the daily featured photo: have a feature where we can attach related comments and dialog. Public libraries so often do not have classics on their shelves any more, but the internet does (of a greater variety of culture, too), and the DG daily quote, because it centers on the well-expressed thought, often lends itself to cultivating an appreciation for good writing.

Today, I posted hyperlinks to a book by today's quoted author that had a beautifully written section on the author's visit to the Tuileries gardens in France in 1915 and another link to artists who had painted those gardens a little before 1915. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could expand the educational aspect of DG's daily quote and maybe even archive them for research?

This is not a garden book; it's a book about WWI. But the way this author writes about his observations - including the Tuileries gardens - makes him noteworthy.

Let me see if I've got your idea straight: the quote would start a new thread each day? In its own forum? Hmmmm.....that is an interesting idea....

I think it sounds quite lovely! I've often wondered the source of the quote ~

Terry, yes. Thank you for considering it.
