OK, it's too quiet here today. Our Forum is buried at the bottom of the page, just above "Mail Call", for heaven's sake. Ok, you know what that means? Yep, you've got it...I'll have to bore you with another of my photos. This is one of my minature roses which are blooming like crazy right now. This one is called "Starina".
Where's Everyone?
Oh, Todd, these are gorgeous. The clarity of the photo of the Primula is such that I feel I could reach out and touch them! I have tulips similar to your Banja Luka and I just love them. They are lovely and colorful, aren't they? As always, thanks so much for sharing. :Donna
Thanks you guys for bumping us up, you know we don't like to at the bottom of the heap.
Donna, nice roses..
Todd, that primula... it beautiful. We had very few primulas this year, we had lots of slugs though....
Linda
Hi Linda, Glad to see someone else on the Forum. I went out and took another two photos of the roses for Todd, since he is without these beauties for a few more weeks. This first one is the second of my Hybrid Teas that have started blooming. A Yellow (unnamed one). My Abe Darby are ready to explode from their buds this coming week. I will be able to practice more close-ups.
thanks Donna & Todd for the great pictures,
Was having trouble all morning and early afternoon getting on to DG..
and if I could get on it was so, so slow,,
I noticed that DG was having problems this morning, Wilma. Maybe that's why there is no action today.
How's the weather where everyone is today? We had a lovely weekend up until about 2 hours ago, when big dark clouds started banking and the wind picked up. It has only sprinkled a little since then, but it looks ominous!
Friday was 28 C here! Then Saturday was only 7 C! Talk about yo-yo temps. Today was a mix of sun and cloud and 16 C...seasonal.
Great pictures of your plants ceedub
Wilma
ceedub, what is the name of that oriental poppy. Its a lovely colour.
Oh, I am so glad I started this thread. All the pictures of wonderful plants and flowers are as good as being on a garden tour. :D
Todd, I swear, I am going to fly out to Newfoundland and STEAL your camera!! The photos you take with it are stunning. The one of your Evelyn rose made my mouth water. Beautiful!
Christine, thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous collection of plants and flowers. They are just lovely. I covet that Sandcherry. Man, that's pretty! And so is your Gerbera. They are a fav of mine as well. I have two this year, one that I bought that is blooming, it's a pale pink, and the other I overwintered last year and it is slow in coming, but when it finally gets going, it's a peach color. Love 'em! And your poppy is gorgeous. I planted some peony poppies that Joelle was kind enough to share with me and they are big and healthy looking, but still no blooms, so I envy you yours. :) When mine bloom, I'll take some shots of them with my inferior camera AND when Todd's away on a holiday!!! LOL
I have a couple wave petunias too, a pink/violet like yours and a Silver one that I grew from seed and that is coming along really well considering I started it mid April. I can't wait to see those blooms.
Anyway, I have sure enjoyed all the wonderful photos. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Donna, it was fun and I should have taken some pics before now. But the past week I was in "party prep mode" - we had our First Annual Spring Has Finally Sprung Celebration last night. Hey, great excuse for a party, eh! I'm such a party animal that I don't even have a hangover...no, not a great constitution, I just kept losing my drinks...lol.
Todd, sorry, but I've looked where it should be and I can't find the tag for that Poppy, so its likely in the ground underneath it, and I don't want to disturb it by digging around when the flowers are so happy. I've just started this year making a map of my garden beds and not leaving the tags in the ground. Far easier to ID the plants later!
Happy Sunday!
Christine
I dug gently around again, and found the tag for the Poppy - it a Papaver orientale "Pizzicato". Both my poppies had the same tag - the other one's flowers are bright red and this one's the palest pink. Both have black seed pods though, The tag says they should be 18-20". These are about 30" high. I'm doing something right apparently!
Christine.
it is lewisia
