Bill -

Justice's onion is almost as big as he is :) Looks like Angel is pretty handy with a fishing pole and his little fishy probably looks like a trophy to him!

You may be doing the parenting thing single handed, but gardening, fishing and playing with the dogs....think you're doing SUPER GOOD :)

Thank you!

His container has - Hot peppers, Greenbeans, carrots, onions and it did have a squash in it. But when he went to sleep the other nite, I transplanted it. He still has not forgiven me :)

What great pictures of beautiful children! I love Angel's red hair. I have a red headed daughter too.

Justice does indeed look very proud of his garden. Tell him the squash is still his, but it will get too big for the container, so it needed to be moved to a bigger area. Just like he outgrows his clothes and you need to buy him new ones, the squash was outgrowing it's container and needed a bigger place. That might get you a bit of forgiveness. :)

Thanks for posting the pictures. Tell Angel I think her hair is gorgeous, and tell Justice that I'll look forward to seeing pictures of his veggies. Does he eat them?

Middletown, MD(Zone 6a)

Thank you very much! He can't wait to eat them - We are all big veggie eaters :)

Welcome to Davesgarden! Cute kids you have there. I remember having my own garden in my grandpa's garden. It was a little triangle between some sidewalks and I think I planted one of everything!

Middletown, MD(Zone 6a)

When i started to plant in the containers - Justice wanted his own - my 2 girls wanted nothing to do with them - they are 10 and 9- guess its the age. Do you know he planted everything on top of the soil :) he never put dirt over any seeds , I did go back and cover his onions to they had a chance, but thats it. He waters them everyday ,he touches and talks to them.

I wish you lived closer so Justice could come over and have a talk with my tomato plants. :) He seems to have the magical green thumb.

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I guess it doesn't matter if their covered with dirt - as long they get a health dose of TLC, they'll be fine! (Hmmm - I was actually talking about the seeds, but I guess that's true of all of us! LOL!)

Welcome to the Garden!

Great photos and welcome. Could use his expertise with our veggies-too long under the lights, waiting for the warmer weather.
That fish is about the size I catch all the time.

I will post new pics of him and his garden in a couple of weeks. He ask's me everyday if they are ready to eat. I did catch him pulling off the flowers on his hot pepper plant. He said they were not supposed to be there only peppers :)

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

OOPS! LOL!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey Dadto3, nice to meet you! I'm mom to 6 (all girls). LOL Isn't gardening with kids just great? I have found with my girls, they do it when they want to do it and when they get to pick out the plants. Their interest is usually short lived and on their terms. I have also discovered you should never make them weed when they don't want to. One loses plants that way! :)

Thanks for sharing your family. They are cuties! Welcome to DG.

6 girls WOW! - I found that the girls a easier than my 3 year Justice - he is into everything, but his garden keeps him pretty occupied. I just have to get him to stop picking the flowers :) You are right about the girls interest.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I am working hard on my one year old and her flower picking. LOL I just about have to trained to SMELL and not PICK, but it does not always work. If she is not getting enough attention, she likes to carry my pots around or just plain rip stuff out of the ground. Sigh. Have you had the little discussion about pollination, fruits and seeds? Sometimes that one works.

Middletown, MD(Zone 6a)

I try but he is too active. When he is around his veggies, he tunes everything out. He is like a hovering doctor working :) If I do get him to sit down and talk to him, I can see his eyes just starting to focus on something else, It's hilarious :)

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Ahhh, yes - eyes glazing over, mind racing onto more important subjects...

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Yeah, you may control and contain the body, but you will never get the mind. LOL

Middletown, MD(Zone 6a)
