May we always be mindful of their service.

May we always be thankful for their sacrifice.

May we never forget that freedom is not free.

I hope the each of you had an enjoyable Memorial Day.

Hear, hear. We just came from decorating graves at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. It is 45 degrees, windy and a cold rain falling. But it's hard to whine about discomfort standing staring at rows and rows of simple white markers.

I was priviledged to be chosen to lay a wreath at our Army base yesterday....right after our base commander, General Fast (a woman!). It was a lovely ceremony.

Later in the evening I attended the Candlelight service at our Veternan's Cemetary.....another touching time....My husband is buried in this cemetary.

My DD and my 10 year old grandson went with me. I think it is important for youngsters to go to these things and learn what "Patriotic Duty" really means.

(I was so proud of my DGS...seats were in short supply and he gave his to a lady, and stood behind us. We were in the last row of chairs.) Jo

Thank you for the poignant reminder and beautiful photo of what Memorial Day is really about.

We remembered our daughters' three friends who served with the marines in the middle east and have perished. It was a difficult day for our girls, but they were proud to know three who served our country with honor.

Thank you. t.
