My DH is at UCB, LOL, and I go there 20 minutes away any chance I can, best foods and chocolates!!! There used to be the greatest place called Cocolat, and I miss it so, best real French Trufles!!!!!!
DRDON, what did you major in?

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

hiya hanna1,

I did a double, got doctorates in Benthic Ecology (Marine floor Biology) and Tectonic Plate Dynamics (Geology). When I finished my defense it felt as if I'd given birth to science geek...oh yeah, I am a science geek. Can one give birth to one's self? I got out in the early 80's and went right to work for UNEP (United Nations Environmental Programme). Retired two years ago after 20 years of service. Go Bears!

best,
Don

Dr Don, How cool, you've got mail in a minute

Okay, we're getting down to the line and it looks like we will have about 50+ attending.

Current needs are cups (cold & hot), sturdy plates, napkins and cutlery.

Also, Don says it is hot, hot, hot and we can't have too much bottled water.

There are stores where you turn off the freeway at Rancho California Rd. in case anyone forgets or needs something -- like sunscreen, hats, film, etc.

Anything I've forgotten?

Jasper Co., MO(Zone 6b)

How hot is it?
I will be feel bad to bring 2 cased of bottled waters!

Rusty, it looks like it's been in the 90s, but the forecast for Saturday is 82. Of course, we all know about forecasts, don't we?
I think you are being quite generous with your 'bringins'!

I think we should all bring at least a six pack.

Atascadero, CA(Zone 8a)

Got H20 on my list. I second, good idea for all who can.

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

Here's the truth of Temecula,

If Bob, Fritz, Loren, Skippy, or Mark tell you it's going to be 90 in Temecula.....add seven degrees. If he says it's going to be 45 at night, subtract 7 degrees. Why can't we have more women as weather....persons here. At least the truth would be closer...lol. Unless, of course, it was about their age.

Perris, CA(Zone 9a)

What should I bring? My wife just had surgery on Wednesday so she will not be able to make it after all. I don't mind chipping in for the meats even though I am vegetarian. It looks like we are pretty well set on paper goods. If anybody is interested, my wife would like to make pancit (Filipino noodles with vegetables). Let me know. I can hardly wait for this event!!

Thanks again,

Chuck

Chuck...I'm sorry your DW will not make it...but her noodles sound great to me. Jo

Chuck, so sorry that your wife can't make it too. Hopefully the next time. I just had to add that I absolutely love Filipino noodles...you sure she is well enough to make them?

See ya soon,

Sounds like it will all go good with the chocolate. Right?

Went to the military Commissary today and bought all my ingredients for my salads. There was a nice big fat seedless Watermelon that was calling my name, so I bought it to bring also. Nice cold watermelon for a hot day!!

But not for me, cause I don't like watermelon.....hehe
