Welcome Mat Forum - New People Need To Be Welcomed

There aren't very many people Welcoming the newcomers over in the Welcome Mat Forum. Please stop by if you have the chance.

I usually write them personally from the list of new subscribers on my front page. I didn't know about the Welcome Mat until I was here almost 6 mths. I get a lot of replies from people that I write private emails to :) Kathy

I send private emails to everyone also. I've been doing so for over a year now. Sometimes I visit the Welcome Mat, too, but I'm afraid they'll think I'm stalking them. :~)

Some people don't respond to the private emails, but many do. I have a couple of "Carla's Tip for the Day" messages that I also send to some people who seem to be overwhelmed about the site - OR - if they have certain questions, I have a "Tip" prepared and just email them with that. Sometimes they even come back asking for additional "Tips". :)

I'm sure your message, Judy, will reach others who could offer a line or two in the Welcome Mat, though. You just happen to have caught two folks who are already welcoming folks - just in a different way.

Thanks for the reminder. I remember what it's like to be new, and it can be over-whelming. I'd like to say thanks to those of you on this list who took the time to welcome me personily. Those, are indeed, the special ones. And those tips ... well, they were soooo helpful! ... Elaine

I just wanted those people who chose private ones to realize that private messages can add a special touch. I'm not always good at expressing myself. Hugs to all my DG friends.

I hadn't thought about it until yesterday, but I added the Welcome Mat to my watched forum list. Now I know whenever there is new post. I know I really appreciated being welcomed 2 months ago when I joined. Thank you all for the public (and privately emailed) welcoming words. Both ways are great.
