Same here! Makes me wonder how much loneliness in the world could be ended if we just talked to each other. Easier said than done, though... for some reason I prefer to remain silent and think that everyone hates me instead ;-)
Maybe when we're all ready for it to end, we can ask Terry to make the last post so that none of us has to feel like the thread-ender ! :-)
Am I Being Ignored?
|I have been reading your posts, and I think that we (you) berrygirl could change the name of the thread, to PITY PARTY. We all need one from time to time, and usually my pitty parties only include myself. Now I know that I can comfortably invite posters to this thread to it. Maybe I will even serve refreshments, how about sour grapes, green apples, rhubarb, quinine?, or anything else that is sour or tart!! Any other suggestions for refreshments are welcomed. Maybe we could set a certain day of the week for this party!!
You forgot the worms!
You know, "Nobody loves me, everybody hates me,
I think I'll go eat worms..."
;)
Who's berrygirl? *giggle*
Please feel free to point me to any thread that you'd like to not have killed; I'll be happy to put my own thread-killing post of approval on it. Staying on topic is optional, though.
Say, it might be kinda fun to have the last word on every thread I've ever posted to... lolol
Donna
Now now, are you guys making fun of us? Must be some kind of "tough-love" technique. I am glad that berrygirl spoke up; I just wish I'd been brave enough to do it! :-)
In my family, to be teased is to be loved. It's a good thing. :)
But I really do want to have the last word. ;)
What did you say? I wasn't listening?
I just noticed something kind of funny. The question is "Am I being ignored?" then when you look in the replies column, it says "yes."
I've not ignored you Berrygirl, I just don't know very much about gardening yet. I am so glad you started this, because aparantly lots of people, including myself, have felt this way.
Hi guys!!
I have been so busy that I have been ignoring my own thread about being ignored- ROFLMBBO!!
I'm off to the garden so will check back tonight.
Who said that??? Did someone hear something???
Got a solution for the last posting, that is, if TuttiFrutti will allow it.
When you are finished here, start a new thread called "Pity Party", post the link to the new thread here and if nobody comes over there to join you, you will again know you are being ignored. LOL
:^)))))))
*LOL but not really posting this time ;-) *
LOL!!!
I have been lurking but not posting to this thread so none of you will see me here. I am the world champion thread killer so if this thread dies just ignore it. I am glad to meet others who are talented and experienced at killing threads too. .
Lani
Lani says, "Hi, I'm Lani and I'm a thread-killer."
The crowd responds, "Hello, Lani."
LOL!
No, Lani I am the champion thread killer, and yet I posted near the top of this one and it has kept going.
Ya'll are making it really tough for me to have the last word. ;)
Really????
Someone needs to do a search and find out what the longest DG thread is. I know it's a whole lot longer than this one, but the subject matter alone may cause this thread to extend into eternity. (That, and ya'll are stubborn)
"Ya'll?" lolol
Perhaps we should post here all of our Q's or posts that were ignored so others can perhaps answer them.
My burning Q is about a pink-blooming spirea that seems to be changing from green to yellow foliage. It looks weird- not sick- and I am afraid it is dying. Sorry no digicam for pix.
Anyone ever have one do that?
Back to being ignored>>>>>.
As a matter of common courtesy I thought I'd share this: [I am on a tear today!] When you are on the SAME thread with someone and they are asking you a Q or telling you they have emailed you, please [after SEVERAL attempts by them] reply back to that person. I am not talking about nonsensical things or harassment. I am talking about legit Q about trades, etc... PLEASE let the person know you have rec'd/read their email and just answer yes or no regarding trades. It's that simple. I have been waiting on a reply for a week now and the person is ignoring me after several heads up on email and requests while they were on the same thread I was on.
THANKS!!
Berrygirl, is your spirea in sun or shade? Some of the varieties like Gold Mound and Golf Flame will be more green than gold/yellow if not getting enough sun.
I'll shoot a pic of one of mine when I get in later and see if it looks similar to yours.
Marc
How long have you had the plant? Has it done this before? Do you know what variety it is?
Riker and smilin,
I have had this Spirea for about 4 yrs. It is a cutting I got from my MIL's plant. She doesn't know the veriety but it looks a lot like Anthony Waterer. Hers is about 35 yrs old and has never turned yellow. Mine started doing it a bit last year. It is in morning shade and full afternoon sun.
Some of the leaves are variegated with yellow and some have totally turned yellow. Could the plant be reverting back to its parents or could this be a spontaneous sport/mutation? I am thinking of trying to root some of the yellow stems. Of course if this is a diseased plant I won't, but will destroy the plant so it won't infect my other plants.

I'm trying for the last word!! Are you going to start the Pity Party thread. I will be sure to follow you there.
berrygirl, That was actually going to be one of the plants I suggested you look at. They are very similar. Do you have any idea if the soil is ok? Are there other plants around it (and thriving)?
smilin,
The soil is good old amended Ga red clay- LOL!! There is another spirea next to it and it is beautiful and normal green so far. I moved it there this past winter. This is the one I am afraid for if the other spirea is diseased.
I soo wish I had a digicam to post pix of my plants. The variegated foliage of green/yellow is beautiful but the solid yellow is a very putrid color. It looks as if the blooms on the yellow stems is a tiny bit lighter in color also.
Well, sorry folks..........I AM the offiical thread killer..........and I will test now.............k..........everyone............shhhhhh
(hee hee)
......probably thinks we've all gone to bed by now, and she can sneak it in there, being on the west coast...... lol.....
Sneaky :-)
At the least a dozen threads were once killed by my posts. After my posts the threads came to a halt and then they were breathless. I do not know why and I do not want to know why. Anyway I have gotten used to it. Hope this one I am not to be the killer. :)
Jianhua, you're safe this time. :)
I originally popped in here, albeit in total and complete silliness, to try to lighten the discouragement that folks often feel when they don't get responses to their threads. Been there, done that, got pushy and bumped mine up again when it was really important to me.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And ya know what? I like to focus on the wins. ;)
Gosh, have you ever posted a pic on the Identification Forum to have it solved within minutes? I have, 'cause the right person was online at that time and in that Forum and said, "Hey, I know what that is!". They typed as quickly as possible to help another member out and get their win for the day, as well... and often go on to check out the next thread to do the same. Talk about kewl!
All questions are not so easy to solve, but that doesn't mean folks didn't look and then go off to try to find the answer in their own way via google searches and in pouring through the books they had on hand. Some questions are so specific to plants and zones that only someone who has actually experienced the event can truly comment on it.
In regards to being ignored on a thread in which the other person is active and you are making posts directly to them... I will step back to allow others with more eloquent and diplomatic speech to address that issue.
*PHEW*
And now, with such a long post, I'll finally win at getting the last word. ;)
Donna
Yes, I am saved for the time being, but following up I am getting to worry again. :)
After supper I advanced towards the lot near the playground, tending to find a mutant among the remants of the dandelions. Not found! But on being seated at the puter, I found I were lucky to pass over.
berrygirl,
Can you take a piece of it to your local county extension office? They might be able to identify the problem.
smiln,
I sure could do that but I wanted a smart DG'er to solve it- LOL!!
Your expectations are waaaay too high. :)
