On the Roof???

Yes, I know they can climb, I just see them crossing the road, or dead in the middle of it.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Yikes! They look like big rats. What is he doing, building a dam in the rain gutter?

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

He didn't seem worried at all that Mr. Gato was sneakin up on him. Or are he and the kitty friends?

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I believe 'he' is definately a she. Most opposums are calm easy going creatures when on familiar territory.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

Yes he is definitely a she.
She lives in our garage up in the rafters, has for at least 3 years now.

She and the cats get along fine.
They will sometimes eat out of the same bowl.
Our Shar-pei though absolutely hates them, moles and squirrels though.

We didn't get around to cleaning that gutter last fall.
She is rooting around for snacks. lol

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Well it looks really cute at YOUR house! LOL They and the raccoons have figured out how to take the lids of my garbage cans and I have had about enough of them. LOL

I just thought of something..................
Each of the 6 Pack can have their own personal Possum!
Hey it's an upgrade. They can see AND hear! lol

Judy, I looked at your journal. Nicely done.
Feel free to use the shots.

They are like my English Bulldogs, they are so ugly that they're cute!!!

Are possum destructive? I know they are scavengers, but to they eat plants out of the garden, wood, etc.?

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

Well, they do eat fruit. They love my persimmons. The worst is that they **** all over.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Just anywhere?? They don't go "outside" like the Bullies??

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

No, we had one in the garage one winter and it messed everywhere.

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

Humm so do people in CA keep these things as pets? *G* If so I now have several Good Ol' Boy relatives rolling over in graves as I type...

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

Well my neighbor invites them in. A few years ago I took care of his animals while he was away. I had to lift a pan in the back yard and put a piece of bread under it for a mouse and her brood. He also has a few cats.

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

ROFL ahh rats and possums...jeez ya'll have a shortage of cute fuzzy puppies or something? *G* My cousins had a pet racoon when we were kids. Rascal was a mess, he loved to hide in the kitchen pantry among the pots and pans and the Thai maid Bunna would scream bloody murder when she would open up a door and have this racoon pop out at her. To a 9 year old this was the height of entertainment.
