Member or subscriber?

Rensselaer, IN(Zone 5a)

Hi...I was just wondering what the difference is with membership in these two. I noticed to the side on the birthday wishes that some people are Members and some are Subscribers.

Thanks, Jodi

Members are signed up and can keep journals and trade lists but can only see the first post on any forum. Subscribers are the ones that join up and pay for their membership and enjoy the things listed above along with everything DG has to offer.

Thanks a bunch, Badseed!

For less than a nickel a day you get endless fun and benefits! Such a deal!!!

Thanks for this thread. I wasn't clear on the difference either. I first joined because it said that the money goes toward maintaining the PlantFiles, which I thought was a worthy cause-- I got the information I needed there. Little did I know what a part of my life DG would become! Well worth the subscriber fee. :)

You cannot even buy a decent magazine subscription for what a DG membership costs! LOL If you actually have a peek at all the forums, I think you can probably find about anything. If people here DON'T know, they can usually point you somewhere or to someone that DOES. :)

I don't think Dave is living big on subscription money from DG and there are several people who help without being paid employees. I was not surprised when we went to subscriptions. I am sure this website generates a lot of work, needs a lot of attention and I am sure all the hardware and software cost a nice buck or two. I am not trying to stir up a huge debate, just stating the obvious. I remember when this was just Dave's trade tracker. :)

I have seen many, many people say they got here via the plantfiles. DG shows up on almost any search you do, sometimes when you are not even looking for plants. LOL

Yes danak, once you come in, you can't leave.
