Where was I today?

I didn't even have time to get online till now. My mother, Barbara Gum, was nominated for the Fritch Area Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year!!! The recipient was Gary Heeter, a wonderful Christian man, a Vietnam Veteran, and maker of wooden crosses that he sends around the world with his story.

But we still celebrated my mother's nomination with a small family get together. We are very proud of my mother, and all the work she does for the community through her job at the Fritch Recycling Center!!! And I just thought I would tell the world (well, the DG world anyhow) all about it :-D

Congratulations to your Mom! Recycling is very important in this world of overfull landfills. If we all don't step up to help recycle, someday this country will BE one big landfill. Pass my congratulations on to her please. I'm very happy for her.

To be nominated for this award is such a great honor and how nice to have a family get together to celebrate it with her. Tell her congrats from me too. She is lucky to have a wonderful daughter like you, Tamara Faye. I bet you take after her in a lot of ways. Thanks for sharing the photo and the information.

Thanks. She is not looking forward to being off work for knee surgery, but the end result will reduce her pain and help her bale more newspaper and cardboard LOL. All of her daughters take after her in so many ways ;-)

Yea Fritch, hope her surgery goes great. You are a sweet gal and I know she is proud of you too.
