Everlasting x Georgenpalais

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

This is the newest brug blooming at my house. It opened early yesterday and it is still continuing to open. It is every bit as dark as it looks in the photo and I am really excited about it.
My daughter bought the seed from Cala back last spring and then gave them to me. This poor thing has endured alot. It has been dug up twice by Armadillos and surivived numerous Squirrel attacks

It had put on a small bud when we got the freak snow storm back on Christmas Eve. The next 3 nights of freezing temps brought it back to the ground and that was then end of that. I waited and waited to see a sign of life and had just about figured all my Brugs were doomed when they began leafing out again.....

So here is Everlasting x Georgenpalais..................
What do you think.....

Is it cool where you are? Isn't it always the case, when you just are beside yourself wanting to see a brug bloom, it takes forever. It is so pretty already!!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Gosh, how pretty!!! I've never seen so many beautiful colors, wow!!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I think the suaveolens open in the evenings don't they? I'm trying to remember, I took notes now if I can just find them. I think Everlasting was really bad about closing up in the daytime.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Wow ... look at that color coming. Can't wait to see how much darker it gets. Has it opened up any more yet. Congratulations, to the both of you!!

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes it "Opened".....oh my gosh.......this is a beautiful brug. I know it is beging to go by but I have several more blooms coming on.....

Yes Kell it is cool here, unusually cool for this time of the year. We have only had a few days in the high 70's so I think that is playing a roll as well. I know my Isabella is not as dark as it is in the heat of summer.....

Shirley said I "Looked it to Death"..............LOL....probably so.

Here it is.........opened

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I love that wide open look. We just have to see it in the summer. It should be even darker. I can't wait.

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

This is to me a wonderful Brug, one you wait for and one that excites you everytime you look at it. I know I am blessed to have such a beautiful flower in so short a time of growing Brugmansia. I hope you all have something wonderful, it is just so exciting and I just can't tell you how great it feels.

I am hoping it stays dark and opens like it should, I will evaluate it for a time and then if it is one we would want I will name it. Time will tell.

8o)

Dee
