dogmansis,
Is your salvia's under a mister in the GH during the winter month's??
Someone suggested to mist @ 11am & 2pm, what your scope on his matter?
I've got about 30 varities of salvia's I 'm wanting to have rooted for a Mid Spring SALE!
I have no problem rooting during the growing season (summer), which mostly all of them are still putting on a good bit of growth now, just by pinching them back. And with Watering just once a week with weak fertilizer. Which we haven't had alot of cold yet, keeping GH temp at nights above 55 and between 70-80 during the day.
Any do's and don't would be helpful! Always love to see what other's are doing - I just might learn something NEW!! LOL!! LOVE too LEARN something new everyday!
Who know's I might have a few to share/trade soon!
Thanks,
Donna V
propagating salvia
gapahen, I don't use misters much in my GH at all. I have cedar shavings on the ground, and I'll spray that real good for extra humidity. My first salvia that I propagated, I just took a broken branch off, stuck it in the ground (of my yard!), kept it watered, and it grew! I was kinda shocked that it would root SO easily! Now whenever I see a salvia I like, I just sorta accidentally break off a little branch or two (?) and bring it home to grow. Just about "just like that"!!
Debbie
