What Have you learned at DG?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Been thinking today of all the knowledge I have gained from this site:
What a particular seed looks like.
What a particular plant is that I just don't know.
Who has the same planting time debacles that I try to persevere.
How to propagate a plant not hardy to my zone.
I have really used this site as a reference guide and dictionary when I get too lazy to look it up myself.
Computer problems, where would I be without DG?

I've only been here since late Feb. but DG has actually relieved some of the anxiety I felt when I had questions about unfamiliar plants and how-to's. I know I can post a question or a picture and have an answer in no time from someone with experience. DG has made an already relaxing hobby worry free for me. I've actually noticed that I feel more confident when I'm out there doing my thing! DG is a collaborative wealth of knowledge.

I have learned that double-sided tape prevents cats from shredding furniture. At least it did with Nemo. I saw him class the arm of a couch and put several rows of double-sided tape in that area. The next morning I saw him walk up to the couch and sink his claws in. He pulled back with a disgusted look on his face and shook the paw that had made contact. He sat for a bit and tried again. He looked disgusted as he walked away. That evening he approached the couch and started to reach. He remembered and pulled back. That was it. He has never approached a piece of unpholstered furniture, except to sleep on it, again.

Of course I am constantly learning things here and gaining good feeling from the wonderful people who inhabit this grotto that Dave has built.

Wow, I've learned so much already. Can't name everything, but I was thrilled to learn about watersorb crystals. I'd never heard of these before. Also, I love checking out recipes that have been posted. Thanks to everyone that has been so helpful at DG!

I've learned that there a lot of generous and truly good people in the world that are willing and able to help others through knowledge or hands or heart or spirit. And I'm darn proud to be associated with them!

I fully agree with BetsyBug!
I have learned sooooo much. Thanks to DG my backyard is looking great...with unusual plants and bushes that I have searched and found in the PlantFiles of DG. But I'm still learning...this place is a neverending source of information.

That Datura and Brugmansia are not the same.

This thread isn't long enough for me to list the things I've learned. The number 1 thing I've learned is the number of knowledgeable, kind and generous people who hang out here. I've only been here since the first of the year, but I LOVE IT!! Bought a Mantis tiller, and have tilled 3 new flower beds. My husband says that he will have a whole lot less grass to mow this year. This has been good therapy, I had an undiagnosed illness, and was pretty depressed when I joined, this has helped me tremendously. Thanks again DG'ers
