Facts about F.A.Q.s

Some FAQs are forum-specific, but many apply to the entire website.
I was looking for "How to make a Hyperlink" and found no reference because I was in the "wrong" forum.
It is a fine system and I appreciate it and the work you guys put into it, but it could use some slight tweaking.

We have an FAQ for each main tab:

"Home" contains general site questions:
* I can't get signed up!
* I can't get logged in!
* I need to change my email address
* Can I customize my homepage?
* How many forums can I add to my favorites?
* I need help identifying a plant (or pest or disease)
* I'm looking for these seeds or plants
* Do I have to subscribe to use your site?
* Why do you charge a subscription?
* How much does a subscription cost?
* How do I subscribe?
* Can I buy a subscription for someone else?
* I'm a new subscriber and I need some help!
* Can I vote in more than one category in the voting booth?
* I have a question about the newsletter
* What's the chatroom?
* How do I enter the chatroom when it's open?
* How do I delete a DG member message in my inbox?
* What's an Uber?

"Forums" (same FAQ no matter which forum you're in) is where you'll find answers to questions about threads and posts:

* How do I start a new thread?
* Why do all my posts have "edit" next to them?
* I want to add bold, italics or underlining to my posts.
* How can I put a blue "quote" box in a thread?
* Can I delete my own posts or threads?
* Is it okay to type everything in CAPITAL LETTERS?
* How do I add a hyperlink in a post?
* How do I add an image to a post?
* Are any forums accessible by non-subscribed members?
* What does "watching" a thread mean?
* Can I see a list of my watched threads?
* How do I stop "watching" a thread?
* Why don't my posts show as "New"?
* How does "skip to new" work?
* Why is there an asterisk (*) next to some threads?
* How do I find the threads I started?
* Can I advertise or sell things in the forums?

Sooooo, I'm not sure which forum you were in, but the FAQ link should have led you to those questions - which includes the "how to add a hyperlink"... ;o)

I don't find "How to add a hyperlink" in the 'Plant Files' FAQ, but then I might have been on the Home page. I realize there is no application for it in the latter, but the PF could have links.
No big deal, though. Thanks.

Quite honestly, we discourage adding hyperlinks to PlantFiles comments. They often become broken as websites change or are removed, and we have no easy way of finding comments that contain a hyperlink to maintain them.

Thus, no helpful how-to for adding a hyperlink in that feature's FAQ ;o)
