shamrocks

I have tried to enjoy shamrocks for sometime but continually run into road blocks. The latest is how do I get the bulbs to sprout & grow?? I have several in several pots in the front window, water lightly & wait...& wait....& wait....Now what? Or what else?? Any ideas or counsel??

Are you trying to grow Oxalis or actual shamrocks? I just grew shamrocks for a friend of mine, from seed. I am not sure if they make bulbs. I picked up a few Oxalis really cheap at Target and potted them up in my greenhouse. I think they were up in a couple of weeks. I cannot tell you for sure if it is the fluctuating temps or the higher heat in the day that made them come up.

Good question. From what I've been able to gather oxalis, white clover & shamrock is all the same. I thought they were different but that is what I learned when I did the google search. Enlighten me!
From what I've been told what I have are shamrocks. I bought a flowering pink from Wal mart & several bulbs thru a catalogue. The ones I had had for years just dissappeared! Don't know if they died from old age or what happened. The ones I got from Walmart just wilted & were gone. I am treating them as tho they went dormant in hopes they will come back. The rest just are pots of dirt sitting there waiting & ....you get the picture.

I have only grown the Oxalis from little bulbs. I bought them again last month because I had these same ones a few years ago and they died out. Maybe they were not supposed to be hardy here? I have the ones with the purple marks on the leaves and hot pink flowers.
