If the seedlings are packed this way they will survive. Just wrap their little roots in a moistened paper towel, and wrap with plastic. Run them under water and place in the box with the shredded paper..I did put shredded paper in your box right??? LOL LOL
CLOSED: Have: Helleborus
Is that the plant I sent you??????? Sorry but I don't have Gerbera Daisy seeds. I've tried and tried no luck.
Okay no problem. This is my African Voilet , I started this plant from leave. But I want to have informations about Wisteria. The beautiful plant you sent me. This time service is very quick and only after a week I have the plant.
Once again thank you very much.
Kaleem
Yes, Kim, you put lots of shredded newspaper in the box.
Here is a picture of the 2 helleborus in their new home in my small greenhouse on my patio. I take it that I should grow them in the pot for awhile, like a year or should I plant them directly into the ground?
I am going to let the delph. grow at least one more week. We are due for some nice weather this next week. The escallonia can be sent with the delph., hopefully after next week. It will be awhile for the coleuses (sp?) tho.
I take it that you didn't include the bugleweed in the box? It was #5 on the list you sent to me to view.
Thanks, Carol
Ahhhhh no I didn't..I thought you were refrring to the violets..Did I put Violets in the box??? LOL
Hey, no problem. Yes, you gave me 4 violets. Maybe another time. No big deal, Kim.
My friend sent me seven different leaves and all have only one baby each now. But informations about wisteria are still required?????????????
Kaleem
Kaleem, They only information about the Wisteria I know is: I got the seed to germinate. LOL LOL Maybe there's something in the PF?
Sorry I was expecting seeds of Canterbury bells not Gerbera. Hope you will send me with Hosta tubers.
Thanks
kaleem
Hi Carol, Are they ready to ship yet?
Hi, Kim,
Yes, I just was going to get them ready last nite but realized that they might not get there until next week. So I am getting things ready on Sunday, the 15th, to ship on Monday, the 16th.
Am so sorry to take so long. Had a rather nasty mishap in the work greenhouse. We didn't have any good fert. to use so I had asked the boss what to use on the flowers. Remember, I work for a grass seed company. Anyways, he told me to use this one fert. Well, I did and the next day, I had lost about 1/2 of all my flowers. I was very ******!
Showed the boss the plants just drooping and turning brown. Well, it turned out that the fert. had urea nitrogen in it, which burns the plants like pee. And you have to water tons to wash it down. He didn't think about what it would do to the flowers just the grass.
He said well, the ones that live will sure be good. So it has taken awhile for them all to come back. Yes, they sure came back bigger but...
So I had bought some Kongs coleus at a plant sale a few weeks ago and I am sending them to you after I pinched off the top for me. I did that last nite. Along with the escallonia, delphinums, and a few tiny coleus plants from my work greenhouse.
I do want to say thank you for your plants. The helleboruses (sp?) are doing just fine and even have new leaves on them. The Leopard plant is growing and has about 6 leaves on it. The hostas, of course, are going to town. The violets are still struggling but that is ok. They will be fine.
So live and learn, I guess. Sorry, don't mean to be so late but...
I also have a lot of dahlia tubers, are you interested in any of them too for the delay? Had gotten from a guy who was cleaning out his yard that has grown them for 45 years and he was selling them for 25 cents each. Let me know, like color-wise or type-wise you like.
Thanks,
Carol
Wow! Thanks so much for the Kong Coleus. I'm so excited. I killed every last one of my babies...boo hooo :-(. I can get you some more violets if you like..LMK. I'm surprise the Ligularia grew leaves so soon. Do they have spots yet?
I'm amazed!
Why, are you amazed?
Don't these grow ok?
Guess I have a green thumb. But of course, the plants that I want to live (and spent good money on) don't, like my Daphne Ordoras keep wanting to die, and then the plants that I really don't care about just go wild. LOL.
By the way, I am going to do an experiement with you since I am new at all this shipping.
I want to send you both delphiniums in soil (Sunshine mix #3 which we use to grow our grass seeds in, in the greenhouse), and is clean. Then I am going to do some bareroots too. I know we shouldn't send soil across the US, but this soil is clean, no slugs, etc., plus it adds to shipping weight, but I feel that they will arrive better and happier.
But if you don't want the potted delp., just the bareroots, just say so.
Am going out to finally get the dahlias planted now so...
Later,
Well I've taken so many divisions from that poor ligularia..I thought he may not leaf out so soon. And the Hel. are growing fast!
Kim,
Sent your package today in the mail. It should get there on Thurs. I couldn't get it for 2nd day because it would have costed $16 (weighs too much) so I did 3-4 days, sorry.
Hope all arrives in good shape tho. Look closely in the box, the plants are in several containers.
Please let me know when it arrives.
Carol
$16.00??!!??? Oh my! You could have sent them bare root. I wouldn't have mind at all! Now I'll have to go to your want list and see what else I can send ya...LOL LOL
NO, NO, NO, Kim!
It cost $8.55! It was over the pound weight for the 2 day shipping, so...
Don't worry about sending me anything more!
I just ended up not taking off all the soil from the Kongs. I didn't want anything to happen to them!
I don't have a want list yet. Haven't taken the time to set it all up with the want and trade list. Wish it was winter time to do that!
Later,
Carol
Carol, The plants look great! I deeply appreciate them all. Thanks so much for a wonderful trade.
Carol! My escallonia is blooming :-D
Oooo Ahhhhhhh! going to go take a picture be right back.
Kim,
Is it a pale pink or darker pink one? My neighbor has one that I gave her too from propagating and the only ones I have left are the pale pink, which mine is blooming too and it very pretty color.
Am glad. The delphiniums (blue ones) aren't the tall ones which I just found out. My neighbor had given me the seed to grow since she was having trouble getting them to germ. So I took the seed to work and grew them. Well, they are the short ones, I guess. Like only 12-16" inches.
The pink one should be the regular tall one.
So am sorry about that. I had some tall blue ones and forgot to give them to you. Maybe next year I can get some tall ones to you. I just finished planting them in my dahlia bed in the back row.
Thanks for letting me know that it is blooming.
Your hostas are doing just fine. A little battle with the slugs but Mr. Sluggo works. The Leopard plant is now getting some spots. The violas are coming along but slowly. The hellebores are doing great with lots of new leaves. They like it here in Oregon, I think. Even the ones I had bought at the nursery are putting up many new leaves. So hopefully next winter, they will bloom.
Later, Carol
Oh wow, you got the other one. Very nice. I am going to have to get a cutting of my neighbor's now and grow it.
Carol
