Happy Birthday, Kim!

(Zone 7a)

Thanks! Darius

Are you all out of tarragon?

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

I would love to have some helleborus seedlings. I am trying to get my shade garden in shape. Helleboruses would be great there.
I am kind of new at all this with Dave's Garden. I have never sent seedlings in the mail.
I am growing a bunch of different flower seeds in the greenhouse at work. There are just the standard flowers though. Nothing special. Like coleus, strawflowers, godetia, marigold, russian sage, lupine, delphinums (pink & blue) blue salvia, cosmos, pansies, etc. I do have a few herbs but just the common ones, like oregano, marjoram, and sweet basil.
I also have propogated a few plants last fall. Like penstemon, escallonia, and several hebe.
I do have a rose of sharon seedling with about 5 leaves on it. I harvested the seeds from my rose of sharon last fall and decided to try to grow the seeds which are so cute to look at with their furry backs. All of 5 of the seedlings that I planted grew which surprised me since they are to be tough to grow.
So if you are interested in any of these, just let me know. Also how to ship the seedlings.
Thanks, Carol

I have seeds, dont know how to propogate? Is there any special procedure or just spread? Yes also tell me after how many days these will germinate?

(Zone 7a)

They like cold treatment...Maybe put them in the fridge if your area doesn't get too cold :-D

(Zone 7a)

Carol, I would love to have coleus..I have killed every last one of mine..Boooohooo. I have many shade plants so maybe we can make a bigger trade.. The Helleborus are small :-(
What kind of escallonia is it? I would love to have some..

Orangeville, PA(Zone 6a)

Hey there. I have Snow on The Mountain...Sedum (the big kind)...Sweet Flag...Hosta (lg leaf bluish/green solid color)...regular tall orange daylilies...Lemon Balm...Echinacea...probably other things if I really thought about it. Any more Hellies to trade? Anything on my list appeal to ya? I also have some Oxheart tomatoes and Yellow Pear tomato plants (about 6/8" high). If not that's okay too! :)

Waiting to hear from Carol...thanks for the offers

Kim,
It has been a struggle growing the coleus this year for some reason. I finally figured out how to grow them correctly. I have lots but they are still pretty small too. Just getting their true leaves. Still don't know really what color they will be.
I would love other shade plants. I just moved to this new house with no yard so I am just getting started with it all. Got lots of plants but all are still small to either propogate or get seeds from.
I went to a Oregon State University Master Gardeners propagation class last fall and it was so hectic and so many people there, that the tags just flew. We all just wrote down the main name and went on. All I know is that the escallonia is supposed to be a pretty one, more of a violet-pink, and very hardy. The plants are 1 stem and are about 5" tall.

(Zone 7a)

Well take care of the babies coleus..I know how it is! I do have lots of Coleus seeds. I'm just discouraged now...LOL. I have named ones too! ha ha. You have delphinums too which I would love to have if they are perennials..and the escallonia is a must :-D I can send you a list through email some of the shadeys I have coming up. I have this awesome looking Hosta! dont know the name..But it sure is pretty every year. Flowers are lavender

I will send you a pic of the coleus if I remember to take my dig. camera to work. So you can see how they are and what color maybe they will be.
I would love hostas. They are expensive to buy and I like the lavender ones.
I have a bunch of delphinums and yes, they are perennials. Fine, send me an e-mail as to what you have for shady plants.
Thanks a bunch.

(Zone 7a)

Okkk...gonna go walk around the yard..I have several different Hosta Species..Why don't I just dig you a few rootstock of each kind? Then you can see which one you like best. One has beautiful white large scented flowers, no variegation purple flowers, dwarf, and who knows what else..Also have solomons seal..variegated and non. Ok that's just me talking off the top of my head...LOL. I'll email after my walk through the yard.

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Kim Your hosta is really Awesome...... Jannet from USA sent me last year two species... these two are very beautiful. I posted photos in Hosta forum for the ID but no reply. First time I saw this plant on the net and fell in love and want to collect all species of this plant, especially Hosta June and in blue shades also.
Thanks for posting a beautiful photo.

Hey, Kim, thanks so much. Do appreciate it. If you haven't sent out the package yet, can you put in some of those Black Dragon seeds and I will pay you for them when I sent out your plants.
How many do you want and when do you want them? I am new at all this so really don't know what size to ship plants, how to do it, etc. Carol

(Zone 7a)

Well Carol, Shipping plants can take practice. I have shipped seedlings that are 5 days old. It really depends on what you're shipping. You can wait until you receive my package and see how I did them. I will have to send the Coleus in an envelope because your package has been mailed. I can help you with the shipping when you're ready. I'll give you step by step directions.
Each one of the the plants are individually wrapped in newspaper and closed shut. I have labeled each one with the amount of plants inside. Take each package out carefull, open carefully, and remove all the shredded paper. Like I said..the Ligularia wont do too much this year, but it may surprise you and flower in the fall. It is a fall flowering plant. The variegated hosta should flower but the other hosta I sent most likely wont. They are baby corms. The Violets are already in bloom and you will see the flowers when you open them.

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

Kim,
All this sounds great then. Will look forward to receiving the package. Thanks so much. Carol

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Kim I can't wait for Hosta tubers, Please send me one from each....... this plant is heavenly beautiful.
Kaleem

(Zone 7a)

Kaleem, I'll go through the yard and find baby tubers (have lots)..The one you see in the picture is very large. I would have to send a box to Pakistan. Lets hope your Wisteria gets there. As soon as I know it has I will send the Hosta
:-D

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Hey, Kim, Just got your plants this afternoon at 1 pm. They look great! Amazing how plants survived the cross country trip. I showed them to my neighbor and now she is going to maybe subscribe to DG.
Thanks so much.
I see how you shipped the plants too. I had already thought about using the zip lock bags and paper towel so am glad that my idea was a good one. You let me know when you want your plants. The escallonia would ship fine. But the delph. are kind of tender, so...
