Crawfish Boil
We had crawfish boiling last satuday at my Mom's house.. in New Iberia, LA.
It was the first time for us (all brothers and sisters) to get together for that day. My Mom was so.. happy for each of us was there. She have been begging all of us to get together and have crawfish boil. It was beautiful day and everyone was there. Some of us have to drive 1 to 4 hours to get there to get together and spend the weekends there. My mom got to see all her grandkids even a great grandson!
We had a good time and enjoyed the day with my family.
Here's my DS with live crawfish.
I love the look on Matt's face!
What a fun family.---Sounds like it was a perfect day for a 'boil! Thanks for sharing your pictures...
BTW--who did the cooking? t.
One of my brothers did the cooking.. He's excellent cook!
Mini..thanks for the pictures. You took me back to my great vacation last summer. I went to a boil. We didn't have crawfish, ours was crab/shrimp but the idea is the same. Great eats, family, friends and fun.
Here is the link to the pic's I posted last year:

Look how big Matt is! You made him touch that thing? LOL No wonder he wouldn't eat it. :) Do they taste like seafood or what?
LOL! I have to agree with Matt. I think him and I would have been looking for the nearest McDonalds.
Looks like it was a fun day though.
Badseed.. Yes, he's big boy not baby any more.. sobbing.. He's spoiled rotten! When my brother poured crawfish out of the sack into the washer tub and Matt watched then he put his hand as trying to touch them. I said No no, they will hurt you. He looked at me and still doing it so one of my nephew picked one out and all he do is grab that crawfish itsback and hold it then later he throw it over and over again lol. He did tried to taste it and he spit! He ate the sandwich I fixed for him!
Well. they tasted like seafood! LOL
JoanJ, he would love to go McDonald's for a burger. He could eat the whole burger without pickles in it. He won't eat the burger unless you remove pickles.
Hi Mini! I'm Ara (Saint in RL) from Orange...about 20 miles up the road. Nice to see others from around here on this board.
Hi Ara! Nice to meet you! :o) Yes isn't it great to know we are abt 20 miles away from each other! Been member here since 2001.
Hey Mini it look good all the pictures and where are the pictures of all your niece and nephew also Sammi and Lacee and Chris and other??? You have pixes of them if do post it so wonder how about Wynn 's daughter came too?
That size crawfish big what Matt held it has new place Super 1 Chinese restaurant has big too by near movie theater.
We wish could have time to stop by to see you to say hi and hugs to you all but we were in Lafayette all day until came home so late evening we had very so busy all that weekend.
Thank for sharing the photos.
RedRose.. Here's pix of my all nephews and nieces, my kids and my Mom!
Yes, Lindsey was there with us. She's on the swing. She loves the crawfish and she won't stop eating. My sis Lacey had to peel the crawfish shells off and give her the meat. My bro went and picked her up and brought it to Mom's house and spent there the whole weekend. She's 15 yrs old.. nothing changes but she loves her dad and her brother so much. She did started to cry when Dad had to leave her off at special need school in Alexandria, LA. She's returned to school on Sunday.
This friday, MY DH's company is having big shrimp boil then on saturday, we are having another crawfish boil at my church.. I can't wait to go and eat some more!!!! LOL
Poor DH, He couldnt eat any more of seafoods due gouts! It got worse and painful for him. He had to stay away from seafoods. :o(
Mini the DH and I heard of a place in Lake Charles that has great seafood and is known for the onion rings? Capt. Bob's or something like that...do you know the name? We've lived here for about two years and I still no almost nothing about Lake Charles (we go to Beaumont just about every weekend). But if TX passes this huge tax I might start going to the Sam's in Lake Charles and shopping for groceries in Sulpur at the Kroger's.
Araness ~ Is it The Steamboat? It's by I-10 here in Lake Charles? Onion Rings's my fav! I don't know any place about onion rings.. all I know I have tasted good at Fusto's in DeQuincy, LA north from Sulphur, LA. I have tasted one at Big Daddy's . I don't like it.. too grease and very thinner.
I have been to Kroger and Sam's several times! :o) Kroger's pretty expensive but they have everything and great coupons on double or third! I usually go to Wal-Mart for grocery shopping.
Hope we will meet each other someday! I have been living here for almost 7 years. I am from New Iberia. I moved here after I got married. DH's from here.

Might be Steamboats...My DH works at Temple-Inland (use to be Inland-Orange) and one of the guys he use to work with told him about it. Since Orange has so little we like to try the places in Beaumont & Lake Charles. I'm from Central Alabama so not use to things around here. When we first bought this house about a year ago I came in and told my husband I thought we had mini gophers or something because I was seeing these mud type mounds in the backyard. He rolled with laughter and then explained to me that those weren't gopher tunnels but belonged to crawfish. I freaked and ran outside to peer in a tunnel to see if I could see one. *LOL*
Oh thank Mini to show me the pix of them all so growing and nice picture that Lindsey is big girl and so glad she made it to be with her all family together that is so wonderful
LOL! That's funny, Ara! They're all over on our pastures, some are short and some are tall! If there's no tunnel out on ground.. just hole in the ground, there's snakes in there!
ROFL I can see me stickin my face in a snake hole! As you can see I'm not a country kinda gal.
LOL
Ara, I notice you just join DG few days ago so, hope you will enjoy it here so nice to meet you.
Mini is my cousin that she married to my DH's 1st cousin that I help her and him to meet and got married. :)
