Nice job raising her Linda
Maya Cuttings field test, Zone 6a, Kansas
Looking good. Keep stoking the fires... as long as it's not dry it doesn't seem like I can overfertilize.
Check this out, my very first bud on maya. I had no ideal it was even there. I thought she was starting to put on some bud, but they always turned into leaves. Then while I was giving her, her morning shower and drink a leaf moved just the right way and there it was. She wanted to make sure I saw it today. Can't wait for it to open.
If I don't sound excited to you, will let me tell you I am. I am just walking around here on cloud nine.
Linda
I'm so happy for your Linda, you've done a swell job!!! She looks very healthy and I love her cute variegated buds, they look like fancy okra, they are so sweet!!!
Oooh, congratulations LINDA! Looks great - post pics when she opens...
ya know, my Maya has shot out a steady stream of suckers from the soil line all summer. I sent out a couple to people and was told they rotted trying to root. Well last night I cut off two fairly large suckers (about 8" long) and popped them into my bubbler with H202 in the water. Would you believe tonight I see lenticles already - those puppies will have roots in no time. I LOVE my bubbler!
Alternatively, my Maya - has not bloomed - hasn't even Y'd yet..but that's okay. It's a vigorous healthy looking plant and I know next year will be a stellar year for blooms.
I would really like a peaches n cream - can't seem to get my hands on one. Do you know how Peaches n Cream is different from Maya?

Diane I have two suckers in my bubbler as I type. I will get back with you after they are in soil and looking good.
Linda
In Sept. Maya had the 1 bloom, now today she has 9 blooming and still many more buds on her. The last 4 days we have been having unseasonal weather in the mid 80's. But the weatherman says starting today we should see some fall weather, starting with rain and getting down into the 60's. We still haven't had a frost yet. All my brugs are going crazy. Blooms everywhere.
She looks magnificent Linda!!
The blooms sure look big on her. Your leaves look really nice and healthy. My Maya is also blooming but the blooms are small and don't get that rich color as they do during the summer. Her leaves look like someone took a shotgun to Her!! LOL
Hope your weather holds out as long as it can so you enjoy more blooms. Here we are also having unusually warm weather for this time of year.
NO FROST...As of yet.
She looks great, Linda
The only thing is she just didn't get very tall. I plan on digging her up and repotting and storing her in the GH for the winter. I do owe a DG member a couple of cuttings, but I am waiting for her to quit blooming. But if the weather does start to get real bad I will have to dig her early.
She's great Linda - I personally LOVE her size, short and squatty, you can use them so many places without blocking the light from others...
Good job with your Maya, 2 PG's!
She will get height next year.
Thanks for all the compliments every one, poor Maya did have a slow start, with our spring weather. I am looking forward to see how she struts herself next year.
Linda, lookit you ;-)
Ya done good .
