Linked words?

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

What's up with all the green 'linked' words in posts and threads?

Northern California, CA

It they are all "green", that means you must have checked out every linked reference! Wow!!

If some are still "blue", then you better go check them out too!

(Unless you've set your preferences to non-standard colors, green usually means "followed", while "blue" means you haven't "followed/clicked" on that link)

I've done nothing to alter my preferences. If these green hyperlinked words are clicked on I get taken to a web search page.
These are single words in posts...words like 'flower', 'Pink' etc...... very very odd indeed. And highly annoying too :-)

Hmm... I've only noticed that in the cross links among Garden Terms, but not yet in Forums.

Oh I'm sure it's something going on with my work computer.......some one was mucking about on it it appears, as I have a ton of pop ups and such happening too.
ISD is working on a reimage of my system at lunch, so will see if that clears up the annoying stuff. :-)

If you click on a blue one that says "cash", hurry and get the green before anyone else figures it out! ;)

:-) So far all the linked words are green. Weird stuff live 'love', 'find', 'search'....just random words really. Very very odd

Riker, that's a virus (or maybe adware)

My ISD people agree :-) They are reimaging my system to remove the adware.
I'm now on another terminal and there is zero 'linked' words now :-)

P.S. Thanks Dave :-)

You're welcome. :)

Yikes! Looks Like I have the same thing. But how do I get rid of it? I have Spybot, Ad-Aware and Spy Sweeper plus AVG and EZAntivirus and this thing is still here!

Zany, are you seeing the popups and such or just the colored words?

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I hope they get those criminal spyware/adware computer hijakers someday! They aren't only annoying, but also use up the memory of your computer and cause you to reboot when you shouldn't have to.

some pop ups but mostly just the linked words. Very annoying! I just ran scans and it removed them but they are back instantly. it gives me the name and location but when I try to get to the file it says it does not exist and a search on my system for it comes up empty too. Yikes! this thing is horrible!
