Evert waving from Ridderkerk-near-Rotterdam Holland!!

Hi everyone. Just caught Evert...On MSN...heheh he is in Holland and enjoying the weather there...so spring-warm like. The Pc. he is using..I E....is not working very well....so he asked me to say "Hi" for him to All DG's... He is on a School Project. Wow....World traveler for sure. He stays till, Saturday. I hope when he gets home, he will share his trip there...with us.. Soooooooo many flowers are blooming he said...

Uu, got the IE working!! Yeah... really nice here. The host family is great and it is really nice to see the real Dutch life. :) Rotterdam is a cool city, and it is great not to have to exhange money, as we can use €uros here too. :)

Hi to Evert....I've got those cuttings started so cross your fingers!

Got home safe on Saturday, would like to go back there, I'm too tired for school, luckily I have only 5 weeks left or so.

Photos will be online - some day. Have to go through them. And ask my friends if they have more.

One thing is better here - the weather, so much warmer than Holland! We were freezing there. Here it is dry and sunny. I guess it was the humidity that made it feel cold in there.

Evert, my grandparents emigrated from Friesland in the Netherlands. Did you visit there?

No, just Holland. Rotterdam, Ridderkerk, Amsterdam, Hague... Friesland is in the North.

Oh Yes I guess tomorrow everyone will have krapula in the morning. Not sure how to spell it. For everyone else that means hangover. It sounds as bad as it feels LOL......Well have a fun day I bet the lady is wearing clothes with a large white cap by now also.

The lady is a Statue in the market area of Helsinki. On May 1st she is dressed up. White caps are worn by students who have graduated from School. I sure had a good time last year during this day as well as many others.

The lady will get the cap at 6 PM said mom, so 2 hours to go. I guess I should get going already..
My brother will get the cap this year (in the beginning of June), I will get it in 2007. I hope! :)

This leads to my next trip, I am leaving for Saint Petersburg (Russia) today! :D

401 km to go ;) This was taken near us a few weeks ago.
And that must be a Russian car-truck in the back going to Russia with new cars that have arrived at a harbour somewhere in Western Finland, the Russian harbours aren't good enough to handle the trade so they import a lot of stuff via Finland, and Baltic states.

I'm back home... was an interesting trip. It was sad to see how bad things are in Karelia, the areas that used to belong to Finland before WWII.
I left the bus at Kotka and now I am at Kuusankoski, spending the rest of my week here at my friends' place.

Here I am in Petergof with my friends :) One of the beautiful places in Russia...

And this used to be the second largest city of Finland, very beautiful and clean - nowadays it looks like nothing has happened since the war. I guess this usedto be a beautiful building as well.. Sad how the Russians just let everything be.
