Pack Horse Librarians (1936-1943) WPA program

Louisville, KY

I am in contact with a PhD student at the University of Florida working on their dissertation
that explores the story of the Pack Horse Librarians (1936-1943). They will be in KY during June and would gladly speak to anyone with information about this WPA program. Especially
:interested in interviewing someone who either was a PHL or someone who
:remembers being served by them. Please, contact me if you have information about the great work these folks did or know someone who served children/familes during that time.

What a cool project! I'm not old enough to have any information, and my mother's mind is failing. Sigh.

That's awesome. I never knew about that program. What a breath of fresh air those visits must have meant to people living in isolated areas.
