Coreopsis. Just a few clumps on the place, many in the area.
Gardening with Texas Native plants @ Wildflowers. Part 3.

Carol
Thanks John. Doesn't everyone have lots of wild Salvia?
Rubbing it in?
Just a little. We also have tons of Lyre Leafed Sage. The blooming season is over though.
o
I think you are right Carol, I will do it soon.
Josephine.
Trois, that is quite a collection.
I especailly liked the close up of the Pink Powderpuff,( Mimosa Strigillosa )
which is very similar to another pink Powderpuff,or Sensitive Briar( Skrankia uncinata )
The main difference between the two is that Mimosa strigilosa does not have stiff prikles on the stem. The foliage of both is sentive to the touch and folds up when it is disturbed.
The close up of the Green Milkweed, ( Asclepias viridis ) is also very nice. The flowers are almost the same as Antelope Horn, ( Asclepias asperula ) but the leaves are very different,
the leaves on Antelope horn are long and narrow, and the ones on Green milkweed, are rounded.
You are very lucky to have all those native plants on your property.
Yep, we are lucky. More when a new thread is going.
