There Has To Be A Way......

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

If this has been discussed prior, I'm sorry to bring it up again.

So many pictures are posted in the threads that never make it to the Plant Files. I just hate that!!

If somehow there was a way to take the picture and post it in the Plant files at the same time it is posted to the thread, even if the information wasn't complete at least the picture would be there and the fact that it is a Iris, Brugmansia, Datura , etc.

Most of the time the person posting the picture knows it's name or that it is a 'unknown or yet to be named hybrid'.

Will all of "great minds" reading this, make suggestions on how this might possibly be achieved, maybe a check box with a field to add the name or something.

Judy

Judy, the best thing you (and everyone else) can do is to encourage the person to post it to PlantFiles.

A bit of history.....

This was a problem a few years ago. Dave implemented the PF Photos forum, with a thread generated to accompany each photo. That way people didn't have to choose between posting an image to the Photo forum to talk about it, or to the PDB (now PlantFiles) - they could do accomplish both by posting it to PlantFiles.

And one point of clarification: we can't accept entries or images of the "yet-to-be-named" seedlings. PlantFiles is designed and intended to help users identify their own plants as well as select plants to grow or purchase themselves. Unnnamed seedling info and images belong in personal garden journals, or in the appropriate forum here for discussion - but not in PlantFiles. This holds doubly true for hybrids that have an official registry (roses, hostas, brugs, iris, etc.) - if it isn't registered with the registrar (sometimes that's a US plant society, sometimes Canadian, sometimes British, sometimes Australian....) then we can't accept it.
