A few weeks ago, I composed an absolutely innocuous response to a thread, hit the preview button, and received a message warning me against using obscenities and vulgarities on the Dave's Garden site. I read and reread my composition, looking for the typo that must have sounded obscene or vulgar, but I couldn't find anything. Am I not keeping up with the latest slang? Does the DG software know more dirty words than I do?
How did I earn an obscenity warning?
Zuzu, without knowing what post, I couldn't say what triggered it.
I seriously doubt the system "knows" more words than the average adult, but it doesn't look only for vulgarity - there are some other trigger words dealing with politics and other "hot button" issues that are in the list. Most of these are inappropriate regardless of context, but your post may have used an innocuous compound word that included one of the triggers.
I received one the other day also, don't know what triggered it either. I re-read what I had written to see if there was perhaps a double-entendre of some sort......nothing I could see, so I hit back, preview again without altering the text and it was fine.
