Lunch Date with Mistymeadows & Hubby

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

See next post.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Today, my mom and I enjoyed a spur-of-the-moment lunch with Kathy and Ralph! They came up through Columbus on I-71 en route to Massachusetts, so we met them at Max & Erma's for a nice visit. It's always great to trade real hugs, talk and laugh. The hostess took this picture for us with my camera. Sorry it's not so great, but it was cloudy outside and she was standing far from us.

Kimberley, We arrived this morning around 7:30. Ralph decided to go all the way last night :) , but we stopped at a rest area on the NY Thruway for about 3 hrs. I'm pretty tuckered and still drooling over that great lunch :)

We'll head back and see Kathleen and Stan probably Wednesday and give you a call to catch you on the backside...

Take care, it was so great seeing you guys. Kathy, you are a mess. What a hoot Lotusblossum is!!!

BTW, it is pouring here today, yuck. We've seen enough of this.

Love, Kathy

Hey, wait a minute! I'm just off 71! Did you think 6 kids at lunch would unerve you or something before your many hours in the car?? LOL

Great pic!

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Hey Badseed, I actually thought of writing you to see about meeting, but I didn't have a computer with me :( I am probably closest to you. We'll have to get together someday :) Not sure if I'm going to be able to make the roundup, I explained to GW, we've had so much lousy weather that we are really going to be putting them down to get our planting done for this year. Hey, how about you and the 6 kids come to the farm and help us plant :)

I do want to see you sometime and we plan to meet GW on the way back for some more good eating, I will leave those plans up to GW and if it's convenient for all, well we can get the family dining room at Bob Evans :)

You take care. BTW, is that your van that GW now rides around in or is the other way around. Either way, nice van GW....forgot to mention that ....and

GW looks great. She is such a beautiful person inside and out. I just wanted you all to know that "she looks mahvalous"...

:) Kathy

Thanks! :) We had a great time with you. Kathy, Mom and I ended up shopping until 9:30pm, and then went to Bob Evan's for dinner, so we ended up going there after all, LOL!

If Columbus-area folks want to meet up and sup with Ralph and Kathy on their way back through, e-mail me through DG and I'll let you know when we get something planned. The more the merrier! :)

Ralph and Kathy are on the road home. We didn't get any pictures - too busy talking. Ralph got to milk a couple of cows and Kathy bottle fed the new calf. We all had a good visit, which could have been improved by a bit more time!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I know what you mean -- I didn't get any pictures until we were leaving the restaurant and I happened to think about it.

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

As soon as i get the pictures printed or put on a CD, i'll post some :) i had a disposable camera with me. What a great time we had with all of you. Wish we could have stopped for a visit on the way back GW, but we too went to Bob Evans in Erie after leaving Stan and Kathleen's. I ate sausage, which I usually don't, and I was upset in the tummy all day. Didn't eat another thing until 5:00 p.m.

Thanks again all. It was so much fun. We have the best friends. ;) Kathy & Ralph

So great to see ya'll got a chance to get together! Mighty fine folks here at DG and when I see them meeting and greeting it's an extra benefit to witness!

Glad your trip went well and ya'll made it there and back safe and sound! (And I assume you came home with a truckload of taters? Or was that another trip?)

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

A minivan load....1200 lbs of taters and stopped at Greenfield Basket Factory and picked up a slew of baskets for the farmers' market. They are about an hour from Kathleen and Stan's. Good baskets. You can find them online (I think) in Greenfield, PA.

I think next time we will have them shipped to our family in Massachusetts and we'll pick them up there. It saves a days wear and tear on the vehicle and the cost is as much as we spent in gas :)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

That's okay, Kathy - I understand tummy troubles. It's no fun to be in a car when you've got 'em!
