Last Fall, I posted a request in the Water Garden forum for info on replacing a pond decoration that had been vandalized at the elementary school where I volunteer - our fish viewing ball had been stoned to pieces. I not only received detailed info on where to locate a replacement, but one member in Mid West, Illinois, named Equilibrium, actually sent us a gazing ball for our garden. How generous is that? All the way from Illinois to Waco, Texas to perfect strangers!
Now that the weather is warm we have placed our new accessories in the pond and are answering a million questions from students.
I waited until now to send this message so I could include a phote. I like this one - a multitude of reflections in the water and in the viewing balls.
Thanks Equilibrium and everyone else who replied last fall!
DG members are generous and caring!
I missed the original thread - thanks for telling us about this, John. The new one looks great!

I do remember your post. The people here are wonderful and generous and caring. I can see it repaid by the smiles in the reflections on the water. :)
May we all "pass it on."
Thanks for sharing, MrJohn. And thanks for the inspiration to us all, Equilibrium.
I also remember the story....what a truly wonderful community we have here at Dave's Garden.
Deb

Susan
Wonderful picture. equally wonderful story.
What a bunch of people who 'pay it forward'
equil, that was a great thing to do,,, look at all those smiles.

That's great - thanks for posting about it. Nice picture, too!
Thanks for the update. I have experienced the generosity of DG folks myself. : )
The giving and sharing spirit here on DG is amazing. I can't imagine having an other 'family' than this one.
I also have been the recipiant of DG members' kindness. I'm a beginner, and have been given seeds by two different people. At first I felt kind of bad, because I don't know the first thing about seed starting, and I didn't want to waste or kill anything, but they told me to just relax and have fun. Not only that, but they've been kind enough to let me email them and ask questions and advise me though the seed starting progress. Thanks to both of you.
jdee, when I first started here I didn't have a clue. I have been reading as much as I can and surounding myself with people who garden through local garden clubs and I did grow some from seed last year and this will be a much bigger year for me. You will learn... just read, as questions and surround yourself with folks that do a great job. :) I ahve met wonderul people here on Daves and I'm about ot meet more when we have our local round up this month. Good luck.
Susan
I'm also going to a roundup in May. I'm really looking forward to it. Yes, I have much to learn, but maybe I'll catch on before I kill too many plants. lol
What a generous and kind thing for Equilibrium to do. ((((Equilibrium))))
And so nice of MrJohn to acknowlege the gift here. Thanks for sharing the wonderful photo.
Such 'moving' events brings a ball in the throat as well! Yes, I endorse what John says.
I remember the story, like the saying goes it's better to give than to receive. That was very kind of you Eqilibrium.
Yes, that's right, stetchworth.
Beautiful... no matter how you look at it!
