Posting pics not working lately

Linden, VA(Zone 6a)

I've tried to post to threads while attempting to attach pix a couple of times this month and it never results in a completed posting after I hit 'send.' This was not a problem in the past. Incidentally, I also tried to preview first and never got a completed preview of the post.

mickgene, it sounds like one of two things are happening - one could be the file size and your transmission speed may be working against you. If you're on dial-up or a slower transmission, then smaller files will work better than big files. You can decrease the file size by switching to .jpg format over .gif or by reducing the size of the image to 860 x 480 pixels or smaller.

The other thing that *might* be happening is that you have to put something in the text box. If you don't, the system won't let you submit the image (although you can preview it.)

I'll try reducing the image size (ifi it's larger, not sure.) Otherwise, I was already sending jpgs and definitely had lots of text both times. (I hardly know how to be concise, much less not "speak at all! LOL) Thanks Terry.

I think Terry meant 640x480, there.

Mickgene, if you have Windows XP, check out the Microsoft Powertoy "Image Resizer" at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/learnmore/tips/eschelman2.mspx There's an explanation there -- it's a great tool. :)

Nope. I meant a really long skinny picture that's highly disproportionate ;o) GW is right - 640 x 480 is a pretty good size for most stuff, especially if your connection is giving you fits.
