Datura Forum

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

The Brugmansia & Friends Forum is just too busy!!! The Datura ends up being the ugly stepsister, overshadowed at every turn. Threads about Daturas are quickly hidden beneath a load of Brug Threads. Would you please consider this request?

Anyone who agrees, if you will please post on this thread we may get Dave & Terry's attention.

Judy

You don't need a crowd to get our attention. :-)

Datura is exactly the "friends" we had in mind with the Brugs and Friends forum.

Excuse me, but is that a "NO"?

I have no problem with one Judy, I love datura's as well :) Some of my neighbors noticed them before the brugs even :)

Yes please.........
I seem to be better at growing those than brugs, so maybe it's truely more my speed. :-)

Thats way i feel the step sister to.. be nice to though... i love both.. but no luck with daturas yet either...

Brugs and Dats used to be in the same plant group. They were later separated (my understanding) by whether the flowers hung down or stood up (and the catalogues still don't have it straight!). I think it makes perfect sense that they are in the same forum. Can someone explain why not? I don't mean to be a pain in the buns. I am truly trying to understand. It is getting so hard for me to keep up with all the forums now and I also worry that valuable friends and information will slip off into other forums and I will miss out on both. :)

Unless I'm totally off base this is a dead issue which really doesn't need to be discussed further, see Dave's initial response. I haven't gotten a reply to my posting afterward therefore I assume he is finished with the request.

i like haveing them both in the same forum not trying to be mean but alot of the people who grow brugs also grow Daturas and gladly answer the questions on the brug forum if its about Daturas.

most people know daturas are with the brugs.

Dave has them in the forum he wants them in and most are happy with it.

It sounds like the biggest issue here is in 'losing' threads regarding Daturas in the B&F Forum. In other words, they can get pushed back to page 2 or further within a day... or even hours on an active day!

The threads move so quickly in that Forum that if someone only logged in once a week, they might have to go through pages and pages of topics in there to catch up on what happened with just the Daturas. Goodness knows how long it might take for any other 'friends'! :)

Not picking sides here, just trying to clarify why a new Forum is being suggested. Please feel free to elaborate if I've missed the point.

Donna, who thinks Brugs and Dats are 'way cool, but doesn't have the time or space for either

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

I think that is indeed the point Donna. I see Dat threads pop up now and again, but they come and go very quickly.

Done!
