Mainecoon, you are always welcome on any "gypsy" thread...we are a very chatty bunch and like to give everyone nicknames...our current thread is "Gypsies & Rebels Bloom where you are planted" and when I say "chatty" I mean it. we got "transplanted" from the beginning gardners forums cause we are very chatty...our fault though now that I reread some of our posts....we do tend to change subjects "Frequently" from what we started with and talk about footless chickens so just come jump on in!

As I R new to DG I do expect some confusion I just didn't realize how far behind the times I could get
starter ""member list by state indicates total nbr of members open SC state total nbr of members found does not match there are others
the first member I believe is naturalgardnerinsc wants you to know the local time is about 4 hours different than my time and is only about 70 miles north who or what controls this
I see there are many more non subscribers there are many many prehistoric posts still lying around could there possibly be a seperate list for current and ancient decussions
swap list as old as 2007 for instance I really believe this is what I have been seeking in a place to learn and develope friendships I dont really fully understand subscription rights
but I do understand the raft of information that would not be available without it
DG is not perfect try finding one with so much to offer you will come up empty and waste valuabe DG time stepping down from the soap box cant wait to hear the list of nonos i have commited
thanks Bill

Bill...as a note to a newbie her at DG,,,,when you see the blue forgetme nots on a persons name it means that this person has passed on....we have a special forum to remember all our friends who are no longer on this earth called Memory Garden. Jo

I don't know where to go so I'll just jump in and see what comes up.

I have a neighbor who for medical reasons, always wears a straw hat, when in the sun. She is wondering if any of you good folks know of a way to reinforce the hat and still maintain it's flexibility, the sun seems to rot them quickly and pieces start breaking /flaking off.. Thought of using spray on glue, starch from a bottle, sewing or gluing on ribbon; but none of these seem the best solution. Our brains are fried.....any suggestions?

Crossville, TN

I am dumb in this department....and many others....but I wet my straw stuff a lot....Jo

Terry, please take note of the posting I just made today. Everything I am reading or posting get red and underlined words in it. I have not done that and it is making me crazy. If you should touch one of the words it is spam and is an advertisement for something. Even your name on the top of this forum is red and underlined.

Okay, I guess I haven't been on since December. What the heck has happened to Daves Garden? It isn't what it used to be. I don't think I like the new format. I have been a member off and on since about 2001 or so. This just isn't going to work for me anymore. Guess sometimes change isn't all that great.

Staten Island, NY(Zone 6a)

I agree that the changes make it more difficult for us. I thought it was just me , but I noticed lot of members are expressing that too.

Crossville, TN

I'm sorry, but I don't like the new format at all~!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, having been a long time member that strayed from the flock, I have to say that my straying was probably a good thing. Can't figure this new reorganization of Daves Garden. Being 67 I am sort of set in my ways and I hate changes unless it makes it easier. This doesn't so, guess I will stray again. Way too much hidden aggression here now and I can certainly do with out that. I wanted to ask a question about growing rhubarb and the only place that I could find was PNW gardening. Humph. Yep, thats where I am and I do believe that things haven't changed for the better here. Sorry Just an ole timers opinion.
