PlantScout Search

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Is there a way to search the PlantScout for vendors who sell a certain type of plant (even if I'm not looking for a particular cultivar)? If so, please tell me how. If not, it would be nice to be able to do a general search. I know from some of the questions I get from other members, it's not always a particular variety that is required, just a basic idea about what he/she might like.

For instance, if I'm looking for a Pear tree because I like the way they look, I might want to see some different varieties to determine what might be best in my yard - or I might want to compare prices before deciding on which tree to purchase. If I could go to PlantScout and enter some search criteria (Pyrus communis) and get a list of which vendors sell that types of trees, it would save a lot of research time.

Thoughts?

You're a genius. Why is it I never saw that little box before? :) I searched and read and looked. Gracious. Perfect.

Thank you. If nothing else, maybe this will let other folks know that it's there, too. :)

Nahhh, not a genius (just ask my sixteen year-old ;o) And yes - I'm sure that other people have had and will have this question, too, so hopefully you've helped answer it for them.

Remember, you can search PlantScout by family, genus, species, cultivar or common name - oftentimes your best bet is to pick out the most unique word and search for just that.

I love the plantscout search feature. I play with it just for fun.
