When I edit a trade in my trade tracker, the sent/received fields both get reset to "No" before I even make an edit. As long as I don't submit, the previous values for those fields remain intact; otherwise, I have to try to remember to set those fields in addition to whatever I went in to modify.
Note: I use Firefox almost exclusively, but see the problem in IE as well.

Trade Tracker - Fields Reset Upon Edit?
*thinks of Fivel the mouse, and starts softly singing...*
"Somewhere, out there,
beneath a pale moonlight,
someone's thinking of me,
and edited a trade tonight..."
:) Is it just me experiencing this anomaly?
Donna, thanks for your patience. I haven't looked into this yet.
dave
This is just a gentle bump to see if anyone else has experienced this problem, 'cause it could just be me. No pressure, Dave, really. :)
Donna,
Sorry for not replying... I did check into this yesterday morning and actually, it worked perfectly for me. I could not replicate the error.
I'll try logging in as you on my test box here and see how it behaves.
dave
K... but try not to mess up anything, Dave. LOL
No, of course not. :) That's why I'll do it on my test box... it's local and not even attached to the internet, but always has a up-to-date copy of DG running on it.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I thought it was just me! I'd stopped using TT for a while and when I started using it again I wondered if it had always been like and I just didn't remember.
Another question - also TT. When you mark a trade sent, you get a dialogue / note that says it's being sent to the other person, but no one ever gets them. What's up with that?
Sequee, I think you have to specifically submit the email to be sent via a little box beneath the generated email... but I haven't used it, myself. :)
Thanks for popping in here, though. At least there are two of us in this boat. ;)
Yes, it has a button that says, "SEND NOW. And you click on the button, assuming your message has been sent, and weeks later people ask you if you ever received their seeds. The first couple of times I thought it was a fluke, or I got interrupted and didn't hit send, but that wasn't the case. The messages just go to Sock Heaven!
One thing I have found is that people often mistype email addresses in the trade tracker, and as a result of that the mail doesn't get delivered.
Assuming that the email address was entered correctly, however, there is no reason it shouldn't be delivered. I use the exact same code to send those emails as I use to send the newsletters, etc.
If you can point me to an entry that you are certain you mailed (and which day it was mailed) I can check the logs and maybe find the answer to this question.
dave
I haven't used it in months because people kept telling me they weren't getting my messages. I will start using it again and will also send a direct e-mail to the trader letting them know there was another message sent. I will let you know if it's a continuing problem.
Thanks for addressing this.
Janice
Dave,
I continue to see my sent/received fields reset to "No" when I edit one of my trades. Please feel free to log in as me to try testing it again, whether on the test box or real. Just try not to giggle too much, okay? ;)
Regards,
Donna
Ditto - my continues to do the same...
Donna,
Thank you for your persistence.
Would you please create a brand new (fictitious) trade, and document the exact steps that you use to replicate this problem? Then post those steps and I will repeat them precisely. Once I see it, I'll be able to fix it.
dave
Dave/Donna:
I hope you don't mind my stepping in, since I'm already here!
I click on the Trading Tab; then the Trade Tracker Tab.
Go to Not Yet Received. When the screen comes up, it shows that I have sent my end, but that the other person has not.
Click on edit. When the screen comes up, both boxes (for sent and received) indicate NO.
Is this the same for you Donna?
Good report, Sequee. I saw the error and fixed it. If you find any other errors, please show me steps again.
dave
Will do!
Thanks for stepping in Janice, and for making the fix Dave. All is well! :)
Regards,
Donna
cool - thanks!
