Looking for Forums for friend/stroke victim

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Hi folks:

Wondering if any of you may be able to recommend any websites/forums for a friend of mine who, at age 40(!) suffered from a hypertensive stroke (long story...was in the hospital for an un-related surgery when the stroke hit)

She's recovering nicely (slowly but surely) but is, of course, quite limited in what she can do.

We feel that she's quite bored, and is beginning to show signs of 'giving up', so I want to find *something* that she can do/occupy some time with. I was thinking that corresponding with persons in the same situation might help her out, cheer her up, help her realize that she's not alone.

Using the computer/internet was initially a part of her therapy, so we know she can do it if she wants to. My thought was if I can compile a list of links to have readily available for her, she might take an interest in checking them out.

We all know how searching is on the internet, though....so many links unrelated to what you're looking for.

Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

Nan, what about here?? Even if she doesn't garden, there are other forums. Many people here would be very kind to her especially if her "name" were to identify her a recovering, I don't think they would pity her, but would just be kind. I've heard most of the "recovering" forum are depressing. It could be that getting her interested in gardening might be the thing to give her courage to deal with her situation.

Just my thoughts.

The Accessible Gardening Forum has some really upbeat folks that are tackling problems cheerfully. We'll do our best to lift her spirits. Yuska
