Should I keep the Waterbed heater pad?

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

I have it and dont have waterbed any more and not sure if I should sell it at Garage Sale tomorrow or should I keep it? It's been in our way? I don't know what to use it? Tell me what I can use it with or for? Let me know sooner, please.

I kept mine - was planning on using it to start seeds on. But DH didn't think it was a good idea. Said it got too hot and used too much electricity. So haven't used it, but haven't thrown it out either. Actually DH is working at a place that does not have heat (long story) and he puts it on the floor and stands on it to keep his toes warm.

WE used to have a float bed lined with plastic and we put a waterbed heater underneath to keep the water warm on cool nights. Don't throw it away, just when you do, you will need it :) Kathy

They are very good for seed starting! I used mine for veggie seeds for a few years!

You might want to consider using the actual water bed as a liner for a fish pond, see the thread http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/490247/ in Water Garden. .... imway2dumb would love to have your waterbed.

I would get a cheap thermostat if it doesn't have one and use it for starting seeds/rooting cuttings....or if you make bread for your bread to rise..... :O}

Or you could send it to me as our waterbed heater went out and that is some cold bed. lol :)
